I'm really annoyed about the Jones selection. He's no upgrade on Atki or Miller (or Strain - the pick of the bunch) so why waste a pick.

Arnie'll be desperate for another creative player by the end of the tournament - which could be sooner than he thinks if we keep playing like that.

Missed the first 30 minutes as travelling back to my son in law's place in Sydney following the AU/SFC match.Difficult to break down that type of defence but better when McGree and Bos came on.

Goodwin's free kicks and corners were pretty shite.Boyle had a so so game though his cross led to the GK's poor attempted fist resulting in Jackson Irvine's goal.

Yes Behich and Jones did really play the inverted FB role and Aziz particularly played very high up the pitch.If the other team has no attacking threat whyu not though there were passages of play where we had too many players in the same section of the pitch.

You are giving him too much credit for his involvement in the goal.

It was a horrible cross that just hung up there and nobody really challenged it. If the keeper holds his ground the way they were defending we wouldn’t have scored there.

Boyle's cross hung up there for enough time for the keeper to think he had a chance of getting to it.He did not get there properly so the goal resulted.Boyle did not have a top game and indeed he is not the player he was prior to the injury he had before the WC.

So yes if you don't want to give any credit to Boyle it was a goalkeeping error that led to the goal.

I used to be a big Boyle fan but his best is behind him. Even the Hibs fans reckon he's a shadow of his former best so if he's not quite good enough for Hibs, he's definitely not good enough for the Socceroos. McGree has to start in the next game and I'd rather replace Boyle than Metcalfe.
