Expect to see lots of smelly people wearing blue shirts and one shoe  ;)

Scruffy poor uneducated types   ;)

Commonly known in Scotland as Weegies or soap dodgers.

I see...
what is their team like? would it be worth going there and watch the match? is it a good opponent?
They are to us what Bayern are to you.

I don't watch them unless my team is playing them.

If it was me and money was not an issue I'd go.Not because it's them......just to see my team.

If money was an issue I'd save it for the real games (I'm not a big fan of friendly matches).

the match in Dresden - will FCN be the first team to visit Dynamo's new ground?

honestly, I don't know.
might be the possibility that there is a season opening match before...but I think that we are one of the 1st teams playing there

How are summer transfers going? Any exciting new buys or sales? Sold Charisteas yet? ;D

The fans must've been overjoyed to be without either Charisteas or Engelhardt, and when Karlsruher went down taking Engelhardt with them they must've been even happier. Now all you need to do is get rid of Charisteas permanently!

nah...he's still with us and will be...:(

yeah, Karlsruhe going down was great to see - and Bielefeld as well :)

we didn't make so many transfers until today

new players:
- Thomas Broich: midfielder from Cologne
- 2 young players from Bochum (don't know their positions and their names...)

players who left:
- Goncalves: back to Scotland as he was just on loan here in Nrnberg
- Mitreski: don't know where he will be going
- Reinartz: back to Leverkusen (was on loan)

the contracts with Spiranovic and Vidosic will be extended/renewed (?) this week :)

training starts tomorrow

we have a new home kit

the last picture shows the saying a former player has made about the Club (Nrnberg): it is "It is an honour to play for the city, the club and the citizens of Nrnberg. May this be kept forever and the great FC Nrnberg never disappear"

Edit: we need a new co-trainer as he went back to Leverkusen

dibo, I informed myself:
the ground isn't finished so far as it will just hold 18k people. so we aren't the 1st team to play in the new ground.

Good news

http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/106756,new-deals-for-dario-and-spira.aspx

YOUNG Australian duo Matt Spiranovic and Dario Vidosic have signed new contracts with FC Nrnberg tying them to the club until 2011 with the option of a further year.

The Bavarian club, who will compete in Germany's Bundesliga next season, moved to ensure the promising pair's futures remained at the club on Wednesday by extending their current deals.

Nrnberg director Martin Bader said: "Matthew and Dario have shown that they can be relied on. We see that they are able to take the next step now and become a steady part for us."

Spiranovic, 21, and Vidosic, 22, have both already been capped by the Socceroos and the news is a boost for the pair who are hopeful of making the Australia squad for the 2010 World Cup.

Nrnberg trainer Michael Oenning added: "I'm looking forward to keep on working with two young players who are also already in the Australian national team.

"That will also be an additional motivation for them to do a really good job for us."

Vidosic, who played a big role in helping Nrnberg claim promotion last season with three goals at the back end of the campaign, admitted he was delighted with the contract extension but acknowledged he wants to repay the club for the faith they've shown in him.

"The trust that I've got here, I want to give it back and play my part in the new aim of remaining in the league," Vidosic said.

Spiranovic, on the other hand, played little part in Nrnberg's promotion campaign last season after a frustrating run with injuries kept him on the sidelines.

Although the length of the contract extension may have come as a surprise, with English Premier League club Fulham rumoured to be interested in the Socceroo, Nrnberg felt it was appropriate to secure his future.

Bader added: "When Matthew is fit, he is, because of his height, a complete central defender."

And after a luckless run with injuries Spiranovic was positive about his future claiming: "I'm happy that I can be with them again. Now I'm only looking ahead."

so i assume that spira's move to fulham is off the cards, or is it that if he does go, nurnberg will want a higher transfer fee

Pretty sure that he stays with us as already 3 defenders have left. The coach has said that no one else was going to move to a new club.

How do you think you will go this year ... and do you think Dario & Matty will be first team players.

This is a good question. Honestly, I don't know how we will go this year.
We have a very young team with a lot of players who have never played in Bundesliga 1 before. So, from my personal point of view, spot 15 better would be sufficient as this means that we would avoid getting relegated again. But it's going to be a tough season. I think that we need to be patient till the last match days to know where we will end at the end of the season.

Hopefully they are! I think it's a bit too early to say who is a first team player and who not. Matty played (45mins) yesterday in the trial match against Bayreuth, Dario didn't (but he played on Sunday). I think that Matty has a real good chance becoming a first team player right at the beginning of the season as our central defender Dominic Maroh is still injured thus the spot next to Andy Wolf is vacant at the moment. If Dario is able to play on the right wing he might become a first team player as well as this spot is vacant as well.
