ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Talking of Aussie keepers:

And Reds boss Rafael Benitez also wants to sign Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici for 2m.
Full story: The Sun

...making Federici more expensive than Maxi Rodriguez.

Go figure.

Rodriguez only has 6 months left on his contract, and is a free transfer at the end of the season, Atleti will want to cash in now so they have to settle for a lot less

Liverpool seem to be run by people with the finesse and self control of Con

http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_5852358,00.html

Liverpool director Tom Hicks Jnr is under mounting pressure to resign after sending an abusive e-mail to a supporter.

Fan Stephen Horner sent an e-mail to the club asking about reports concerning the finances at Anfield, and received two rather pithy replies.

According to reports in several newspapers, the first simply read: 'Idiot'.

Seemingly wishing to crank things up a notch, the second said: 'Blow me, f**kface. Go to hell, I'm sick of you.'

Hicks Jnr - son of co-owner Tom Hicks Snr - has since apologised for the e-mails (confirming, as The Times comments, that it was genuinely him that sent the messages).

"I apologise for losing my temper and using bad language with you. It was a kneejerk reaction," said Hicks.

However, that has done little to calm Liverpool fans groups, particularly because of the lack of official comment from the club.

The Times quotes James McKenna, a spokesman for the 'Spirit of Shankly' group, as saying: "It is a great surprise and an even greater disappointment that Liverpool Football Club have thus far failed to make any comment on what we feel is a very serious matter.

"Is this what the club has come to, that a board member can speak in such derogatory terms to a supporter but can go without censure or any public criticism? The conspiracy of silence which has followed this unsavoury incident is totally unbecoming of a club which has always prided itself on its relationship with the fans.

"Are we to presume that the Liverpool hierarchy condones the comments made by Tom Hicks Jr or is it simply a case that the deeply flawed regime of Hicks and Gillett has left the entire club in a state of paralysis?

"Surely the very least the Liverpool supporters deserve is an open and honest explanation from the club, an indication on their feelings about the objectionable behaviour of such a senior member of the board and a commitment that such an incident will not happen again."

Liverpool have signed Maxi Rodriguez on a free.

As part of Rafa's "Alberto Aquilani approach to Man Management", Rodriguez is due for a start in Liverpool's 2010-11 preseason friendly against Tranmere Rovers.

Torres out for 6 weeks, Gerrard out for a fortnight and Jewman out for a month.

On another note, a boatload of fixtures likely to be postponed again this weekend if there's another dumping of snow before Saturday.

"Onest 'Arry done for tax evasion

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has been charged with two counts of tax evasion.

Mr Redknapp, 62, was charged with cheating the public revenue of about 40,000 at Bishopsgate police station.

It relates to two payments totalling US $295,000 allegedly made by former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric to Mr Redknapp via a Monaco bank account.

Liverpool have won important matches without El Nino and/ or Stevie G before in recent history, however who steps up for the team and instils confidence in the rest of the team in this period of time is a question mark. Kuyt is the most prominent name I can think of, but he has the Kwasnik habit of being hot and cold.

Arsenal want Smalling (do they know he is English?)

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to splash out on Fulham's England under-21 giant centre half Chris Smalling - in a stunning 7million deal.

Wenger has brought in Sol Campbell to help him through the season but the Gunners want a long-term defensive leader and the young Londoner is top of their wish list - with a bid imminent.

The shrewd Arsenal chief has had rave reports about the tall and elegant defender since he moved from non-league Maidstone and he thinks he would be perfect for his set-up.
