ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Well that's a reality check.
yeah bullshit is gold for conservatives .
when the republic was up for a referendum .there was 60% support for a republic .
once john "lying rodent" howard was elected . he made the question
"do you want a republic ,with a president elected by 2/3 majority of parliament "
so all of a sudden the referendum was . "how much do you hate politicians"

the republic was lost .with never a mention of how the public was swindled .

the voice had wide support .until the resource billionaires and their billionaire media allies duped the public into what the voice would be.
like turnbull and the republic .albanese was naïve to believe doing the right thing would
was enough .
of course the myraid of lies and projections will never be mentioned . there were no camera's allowed into the "NO" vote after party .so there are no pictures of gina rinehart drinking dom perignon .with her quisling jacinta price . or the gin jockeys grandson peter dutton.

The Voice didn't have wide support. Even though the Govt and Media tried to bully the masses.

what media ? 2GB,channel9 ,murdoch ,facebook ,twitter ? who ?

on election night after an avalanche of duplicity, sure.
when the voice was mentioned it had wide support even amongst the liberal party .
even the gin jockeys grandson procrastinated till murdoch gave the order to opposite it .

i mean, imagine giving a pack of coons the right to speak to public servant that decide their lives ,right .

frankly i hope they regroup and sue rhinehart and co for stolen resources . after mabo this has every chance of winning and would cost billions .
till then the election result of the voice should stand as a national day of shame .

The Chicken Littles for Yes told us that other countries would see us as pariahs etc etc yet the sky hasn't fallen down. Virtue signalling companies like Qantas and sports codes that stuffed the Yes vote down our throats lost their gamble interfering in politics.

The Voice Referendum was a once in a life time opportunity to right wrongs which wasn't taken.

The no vote has set back reconciliation, generations if not a century, for what exactly?

So our frankly terrible, and largely empty constitution, gets to remain the same? So Peter Dutton can have a better shot at becoming Prime Minister before he is inevitably knifed?

The Voice was a pathetic ask from First Nations people and one constructed by the most conservative First Nations legal scholars. The main architect of the thing was Noel Pearson who desperately pleaded for decades to get this pathetic ask up. Not asking for reparations, which nearly all First Nations elders orginally asked for, it would have done absolutely nothing but provide ignorable advice.

The Voice was an incredible compromise from First Nations people and elders, an attempt to bridge the gap by offering something permanent but ignorable. That compromise was instead morphed into an attack by sheer misinformation. Former High Court Judge after High Court Judge lined up to say it would have no adverse consequences beyond what it said on the tin. But of course Peter Dutton and Jacinta Price knew better.

All their promises during the campaign like having another Referendum on just recognition have disappeared as quickly as the campaign ended. There's no focus on practical outcomes, just a focus on more demonisation.

It also teaches the next generation of First Nations leaders to work outside of our society, not within. It gives more power to radicals and even further diminishes whatever trust First Nations people have in Government. If you're not a fan of Lidia Thorpe then that's who you have empowered with this result.

Frankly for the Conservatives out there it was a god send and one I was incredibly surprised to see Dutton and Price not realise. Lidia Thorpe realised that it risked invalidating future claims of First Nations sovereignty for a chance at an ignorable Voice.

That's why moderate, intelligent Liberals like Bragg, Lesser and Archer backed it, it would have settled an issue that will no doubt rear its head again when the High Court has to inevitably rule again.

The reality is there are still severe issues at common law with Native Title and First Nations Sovereignty, issues that have no case law or are currently decided through extremly contestable legal theory. Issues that are frankly unlikely to be resolved in ways that Dutton, Price or their various supporters want. The only reason it hasn't happend yet is because of the paucity of test cases.

When a case eventually makes it way to High Court with these issues, which it no doubt will, Dutton, Price and co might realise the mistake they have made. They can't run a campaign against High Court judges and they certainly won't win a referendum to change a constitutional decision.

very good . i do doubt thorpe is that smart . while she doesn't have a well stocked, cayman islands bank account, like jacinta price . i could see her doing a kyrsten sinema in the not to distant future .

the point of litigation now, has well and truly raised it's head .
now noel pearson and megan davis are home grieving over this debacle .but soon it will turn to anger .

then they will come after the money in the high court and in the international court of justice .
they could well win reparation's against the minerals council members. that funded the disinformation and plain fraud of the NO case .

resource rent tax anyone ?

I just dont understand how a mainstream political party in a western democracy can endorse this bloke especially after seeing what a farce he made of the office of president.
cos he'd go independent and he'd still beat the republican party's candidate easily.
