ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Arnold never showed any desire to leverage Cummings strengths. If the plan was to have him forced into the Duke template it was a bad plan from the outset. I think we'll miss him when we hit games where hard running plan A isnt enough.
Borello is probably the closet to a Duke type player. If we have a similar setup as we had against Mexico then Jason would take the Metcalfe role behind Duke

There we has a front six of

Boyle-------Baccus---Irvine---McGree
----------------Metcalfe--------------
-----------------Duke-----------------

TBH I wouldn't mind resting Mitch for those games and starting at least for the home game

----------------Ryan-----------------
Strain-----Souttar----Rowles----Bos
Garang-------O'Neill---Irvine---Boyle
----------------Cummings--------------
-----------------Borello----------------

McGree to come in later so that the old connections between Garang and Cummings and Boyle and Cummings have a chance to gel.

I agree, but I dont think there's room for Cummings and him on the pitch at the same time. Arnold showed us against Ecuador who he prefers and was the final nail for his NT aspirations imo.
That was March where Duke and Borello played as lone strikers in the 2 games. We played a different system against Mexico in June with Metcalfe playing behind Duke.

If we play a lone striker Jason is likely to miss out like against Ecuador

-----------Devlin-------Irvine---------
Metcalfe--------Mcgree------Goodwin
-----------------Borello----------------

However in other formations he would be very effective.

In a 4-4-1-1 as we did against Mexico in June

Garang-------O'Neill---Irvine---Boyle
----------------Cummings--------------
--------------Borello or Duke----------------

or as a 4-3-3 like

----------O'Neill---------Irvine------
---------------- McGree------------
Garang -------Cummings----Boyle

Given his latest pics from his holiday in Dubai is say he is going ok ?
Yeah he is living it up, every chance he gets his is out of India. Wasn't long ago he was in Thailand for a week or so partying.

He always used to post pictures of the beach etc when in Oz, seen hardly any pictures of India just holidays he is having not in India.

Pretty easy life getting paid $1m to not train that hard and holiday all the time. Good luck to him.

What f**king formation is Arnie playing here. Is Bos and Miller playing as wing backs in a back 5? With Behich on the field?

No, Bos is playing left mid.

Miller has looked good too

Bos should start from this game on. Has come on and looked better than any other Australia player with ball at feet.

I'm thoroughly impressed with that play from us. The biggest thing was passes were hit with the right weight and stuck most of the time.

England defs let us play though. They let us counter a heap of times.

A draw would have been a fair result.
