ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Songs 'N Chants

Ok this sung to the tune of 'the song that never ends'.

The Mariners are the best
We are better than the rest
For - the blue and yellow - we all stand and shout
Coz, we are loyal to the club there isn't any doubt, that

may i add, songs dont need to contain words to be effective. Just because the word "yellow", "coast" or "mariners" doesnt mean it cant be used  ;)

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but the 'You fat b*stard, You fat.....' chant that we sing from an opponents goal kick sounds so rubbish.  I don't know why we started signing this one but personally I think it sounds cheap and nasty.  It sounds even worse when you listen to it on television.

I love all of our songs and chants but this one I really can't stand.  Does anyone else feel the same way about it?

Haha 'Lets go Mariners' is obviously a primary school swimming carnival chant but sometimes you need something simple like that to get the crowd involved.

'Everywhere we go' I don't have a problem with.  It's only sung once a game and I think it's great when Auburn get the Bay fired up.

Not a fan of it at all ... especially as it is a long term Perth Glory thing, which the Roar copied. We started it late at times in Season 2.

I dont give a toss about other fans groups opinions of us but I think anyone who sings "lets go" deserves to be roundly abused.

Nothing else says "tosser" the way that chant does

Just to add a positive note:

I had to be in scumville for a weekend family function (wife's side) and escaped long enough to drive down from Belmont for the game.

The eta given by my neice must have been lowflying stuff as I walked out of the Railway car park as the game started.

I can tell you where the sound goes from the northern bays - straight out the back!  It was very loud crossing the railway bridge - well done for the game start.

On another note my drive down was lightened by listening to the guys on CoastFM all the way from Swansea.  The segment with Damien Brown on the NYL was tops, and the 'scripted' disagreements between the team (that is scripted guys?!) kept me laughing.

thanks chris - we also had danny at halftime and that was an excellent interview

more disagreement without trent there as luke and i have differring opinions about the game and how it should be played, but definitely not scripted andm makes for good radio

on this occasion luke was right as carceras had a super game playing in the middle

I was in the Kendall for a beer before the game and the thing I noticed was our lack of specific chants that directly targeted some inadequacy of the visiting MV fans. They had a few chants that targeted us, one of which went along the lines of "two grand finals and haven't scored a goal" (or something similar to that). We countered with the good old "We all follow a yellow football team... etc, etc". It was loud but would not have really dented the pride of our visitors.

Perhaps we could start a thread which is all about short sharp chants which directly target specific football clubs. If we are faced with this situation again then we'd be prepared with a quick, witty and hurtful reply.

Nothing too fancy, just one or two lines that can be chanted loudly and clearly in order to suppress any negative Mariner sentiment.

For example, the chant after the 2nd semi last year... "2 - nil and you f**ked it up" or "we got three and you got none... do dah..." Not the best examples but easy to pick up on the spot and join in.

Suggestions???

I like the song that WBA fans were singing to Curtis Davies (I think) who deserted them for Villa.

"Your just a fat greedy bastard"
Fat greedy bastard"
"Your just a fat greedy bastard"

etc etc
