ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

interesting to see the mariners play a different formation. lined up like this

first half

-------------- ryan --------------

bojic ---- trent ---- pat ---- rose

-------- pele ---- hutch --------

------------ rogic ------------

-- troy ------ duke ------ ibini* --

*kwas from the 20ish min

second half started the with pasfield in goal and troy moved to rightback... after a few early subs ended up like this...

-------------- pasfield --------------

troy ---- trent ---- pat ---- rose

-------- pele ---- hutch --------

------------ gibbs ------------

-- rogic ------ mcbreen ------ kwas --

Regulation 1-4-3-3 suits Bojic and Rose and allows plenty of strikers in the box.
Good example for the kiddies

Pellers will be doin a bit of fishin this year, the deeper, more central he plays, the more wayward his passes, i still smile at the Kwas hate six seasons later (for me), bernie and Rose were workin well till bernie came off, Rogic still can't defend but hey, what's new.

edit> btw Sainsbury looked very tidy imho
Oh I love my Kwassie, happy to have him in any Mariners side

Isn't Joey Gibbs the kid who banged in four for one of Wanderers pre season games?

Roony, I don't think that Kwas hate. Love Kwas and that sounds pretty dead on to me.

Pre-season is the best time to do so

Not too bad; they're preparing for an ACL game and only scored late in the game. Hopefully our shooting improves for the season.

and just wondering... does anyone know the last time we lost a pre-season game? I seem to remember us pretty well coasting until the season start other years?

Won 12 of 13 pre-season games last year...lost to a NZ local team last game before season start.
It's good to lose now methinks, sharpens up the squad and points out areas to improve in ways winning does not.
AU are in form too, good luck to them in the ACL

Also Sterj nearly recovered from a calf injury

Pre season isn't much of a guide - after a great pre season last year we didn't win our first three A League games. We were, of course, without Wilko -oh, shit, we will be this year :)

Not a great result but it sounded like we were reasonable and alot of those players are not starting 11. Full strength it hopefully would have been a different story.

Was the Mariner in the arm brace Caceres?

Yes,that was Caceres.Talked to him after the game and he told me that he dislocated his elbow 2 weeks ago at training.Poor kid was very furstrated as he expected to get a lot of game time in these trial games. He hopes to be back at full training by early October. In regards to the game I liked how mariners played in the first half.Could have score 2 or 3 goals in the first 45.
