we've gone backward since we lost staj . the world cup was an aberration assisted by playing at home .

This. There was a rotting fish in the culture then and rather than address it they gave Staj the boot. The World Cup home hype gave them a boost but now the reality of picking favourites and underperforming players is coming home... (pardon the pun).
Now for the USA after conceding 8 in two games.
