Chidiak is overrated too. It’s only because she plays for Victory. Certain people like her. Did nothing against our girls in the finals

Big drop off in talent from our top girls too the bench players.

Carpenter exposed defensively again and targeted successfully by the Germans. Talented player but has big defensive issues but we have no one capable to play instead.

We have gone backwards from the World Cup but in fairness could of been out of that early too.

Hopefully the girls do the same and come out firing in second game.

Watched the Japan Spain highlights and the difference was pretty big. Very high caliber game, skills and goals.

From what I have seen from the Matildas they reached their high point in the WC and are in decline while European teams are rapidly going past them.I know many of them play in European leagues but really only Kerr,Fowler,Cooney- Cross and Raso are true international standard.Foord has her moments and Arnold is a competent keeper.Heyman is willing but is past her best.Fowler had a lot of expectation on her shoulders and looked lost against the very clever German side.

Carpenter is overhyped and even her forward runs usually have no end product.Catley is steady but also has seen her best days.Hunt has improvement in her and should be in the team for a lengthy period while Polkinghorne is no longer up to it.Kennedy is slow to react and while she is a determined tackler is at the end of her Matilda days.Gorry can do some good things but was not that effective in this game.Cortnee Whine is one dimensional and lucky to be there.Van Egmond is way past it and most have some incriminating photos of Tony G.

we've gone backward since we lost staj . the world cup was an aberration assisted by playing at home .
