Though Aloisi dominated, he threw one or two easy goals away through being greedy. Good win & great 1st half.

I wonder if that's because Verbeek and co. were at the game.

He's far too much of a professional to be worried about that. He has nothing to prove.

OK I've done the sums and worked out the worst case scenarios.

To 100% guarantee a spot in the final four we need 5 more points.  To 100% guarantee the premiership we need 10 points.

Hate to start any form of speculation about a rift in the mariners camp....but did anyone else notice how Greg Owens was basically the only Mariner not to congratulate Aloisi on his goal, he practically ran straight passed him with his head down, the theory could further be supported by Aloisi's almost outspoken comment singling Owens out for missing the goal last week at the death against Queensland?...
I wasnt going to mention anything but then i saw this photo on the mariners website which sort of sums it up, could there be tension between these two?

you can safely say we are now in the top 4, its just a question of where... as for finishing 1st i think we need to win 3 more games

Alot of the times I've been to watch training, these 2 seemed to always be walking and talking together, like best mates.

Top performance by the boys...
Ref again was questionable... Aloisi's yellow? Sorry but that was nothing, the keeper bumped John as he was standing up>

The team played well as a whole, was great to see some really well placed crosses and passes.

As I said after last weeks game we are beginning to hold possession. Once we do that we will beat anyone.
It seems we give it away when we panic and lose shape. Keep the confidence high and we will be ok.
Yesterday the answer was there, play with the ball, and when the opposition has it defend high, keep them in their own half and pressure them into mistakes. The chances then come.
Like Aloisi I think there is room for improvement with each game leading into the finals.
I am still confident.

What a great game to watch. Both teams looked confident on the ball and there was little giving the ball away. Just wonderful skill filled football. Is anyone else concerned that so many of our players have yellow cards with only 5 matches till the finals. Clark 18, Heffernan 60, Hutchinson 76, Vidmar 76, Petrovski 81, Aloisi 86. Both our strikers, two major defenders, a pivital midfielder and a great cover for boogs. If they all pick up another in the next few games and lets face it sash and viddy are definatly going to then we might have a few hairy games ahead of us. Please be more careful guys we are heading into the final stages of winning the league we dont want to field the grandfinal with a reserve team. I can just see it now lol

Clarky.....O.Grady.....Porter....Mc Andrew
Kwasnik...Gumpy.....Brown.....Owens

I have absolutly no doubt that we could beat Sydney with this team but i dont know about the others. No offence to these guys in any way shape or form and i would go support anyone who wore the yellow and navy but i would rather go in with our strongest team.
Solution: Anyone on a yellow in round 19 20 21, HACK THE BONE!!!!! ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGG.

It might do, i don't know the rules about it but even if they do restart imagine sash and a few others picking up yellows in a heated Sydney or Melbourne game and then we have to play Newcastle and Wellington without. Could send us from 1st to 4th. Does anyone know if the card count restarts?

The card count does restart in the finals but if someone gets a yellow in round 21 they will miss that first finals game, so it is best they get it before then. i would rather someone miss the wellington game so they are able to play in the finals

Nice to see your confident, but I wouldn't put out 10 men.
