ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Alou’s been much maligned by many on here but I actually don’t think he’s been as bad as many seem to make out. His hold up play (as well as his aerial presence) has been sorely underrated by many.
Hard for any of our strikers to get into any sort of rhythm when they’re only playing 45 mins a game for the most part.

Absolutely this. Hasn't set the world on fire perhaps. But has been a key piece in a team that's on track to break history. His energy and aggression has been valuable alone and he's only getting better imho.

I think that's the difference in opinions in this thread, and it's probably semantics, but not that bad is hardly shining.

Solid but uninspiring is how I usually describe him. He's doing a job but you always get the impression he is leaving a bit in the tank (especially in and around the 6 yard box).
It’s probably semantics again, but “not as bad as many seem to make out” ≠ “not that bad”.

Has he been as sensational as we’d have hoped? No.
Has he done a job? Absolutely yes.

His hold up play for 2 goals against adl away was class. That continued throughout the season, with the occasional goal. He’ll be fine here.

previously, to come back here under Monty might not have seemed like a great idea, but being Jacko is from UK and has experience there, maybe comnig here on loan isnt such a bad option for Newcastle
Monty is from the UK with plenty of experience there as well with 400 Championship and EPL games.

I'd love to see Garang here on loan but i think we will look for an established Striker to play alongside either alou or Big Ed.

Depends if we sign/keep Barcellos once his contract in Spain expires, GK would be good on the wing opposite Theo and then can rotate more forward when Migs comes on. Or go back too last year where the front 4 were all over the park and causing mayhem for the opposition.

Compared to this time last year we had 4-5 pretty much known to be leaving, this time round we honestly only have 2 near certainties in Hally and Max. Even max isn’t apparently a confirmed thing from some hearsay. There’s some confusion around Migz future, jing and Ronny might have to return to their clubs. I’d like Ronny to stay, he’s proven his worth.

We just expect fazz and niz will get a good enough offer, fazz in particular we know is more than happy to stay. I expect Rich to do his best to keep niz around, he gave Tulio a pay bump to stay a little longer… and I just refuse to believe niz would play for any other local team.

IF Brian ends up leaving we will 100% need a top tier CB. I think we need one already with Hally expected to be gone. We need an elite winger to replace Torres’ output for the ACL. I’d love a prolific 9 but I feel like Jacko will continue to put a heap of work into big Ed and Alou. There’s a succession plan for the DM area I wouldn’t expect a signing there.

So realistically we only NEED 2 maybe 3 good signings as of right now.
