ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Selling now would be silly from the club.
Totally possible we can accept a fee now for a July departure.
Well we supposedly let Tulio go for way less than he’s worth so I don’t have a lot of faith in the selling strategy right now. Had we got what he’s worth we wouldn’t need to sell Torres now. If we do it needs to be well over 500k. Selling so quickly might look like good business but undermines the attachment people build with the team.

That may have been tied into re signing him by sounds of it so we might have had a weak hand.
Also show the path to future players like Torres so has that value as well.

However if the club wants that AFC pay cheque they can’t sell Torres. He is crucial for that game

It would be terrible business tbh.

Well hopefully we’re setting those clauses high enough to make it worthwhile. No point being a selling club and getting half of what others would get for similar players. We’ll always be chasing our tails like that.
Clubs don't set them. Players agents do.
All contracts do is make sure you do get a fee and set out wages etc.
As a means of tying someone to an employer they dont do that.
Anyone can get out of a contract. Ask a contractor

It's f**king K2, this isn't even a jump up, I'm all for moving players, but this ain't good business.

Is there a way you could write in to the contract, to not sell to second tier leagues.
