Cheify masterclass in patience and assassin’s.

So well drilled.

Any time the defender got pulled out and they went straight into the whole that was created.

A world class free kick

A very iffy offside. Couldn’t tell on the replay but looks a bees dick in it. Should of stayed with the linesman and his better angle than a guessing computer

I thought the change in formation was wrong at halftime. Aggressive and i get you are two down but going that weak at the back favours the nix counter and you saw wha they did on the third. I would have waited 20mins and see if you get one back before opening up with such a young inexperienced backline.

Nix are maybe a little better than last year with the Japanese player Insigne Instead of Kraev. They were are top team last year and they were pretty seemless today. Great coach has them playing well.

We aren’t at last year’s class yet

I was far less worried at this point last season.

Our midfield & this five at the back formation is hard to watch.

More positive note, Brandtman had some great touches when he came on in a more central role, wouldn’t mind seeing him get a go as the attacking midfielder in the shape we played last season.

Hane eames just wow. Looks effortless and two footed.

I thought Brandtman would be the one i am most excited to watch (sorry bud your into second)

But Eames at such a young age looks total class. Can’t wait to watch him develop.

I think he could start now but i agree with just 20mins a game for a while but he could be something special.

The radio boys said the same on the way home. They think we seem further away than last years team that was 0-4.

They also said the league is better too

A very frustrating afternoon at the stadium. I thought we started well and even 1-0 down I expected us to make something happen. After the second we lost our heads and looked like we’d end up with 10 men. I thought King got influenced a few times then we got annoyed and they really leaned into it. Can’t be doing that.

Never looked like making much happen after we lost our heads. Defence regressed. We have to be in the market in January even if some players come back.

I would be tempted to get Roux on beside Kaltak to at least give him some experience and cover, having 2 green CBs beside him is a lot of weight to carry and we can see the effects.

The loss we had to have. Hopefully Jacko has some answers and solutions because the draws have covered up the cracks.

My opinions:

Lacking in quality in the midfield at the moment. I know they will come good but Alfie and Steely just need time to gel. Both playing too deep and negative. We were blessed with Nizzy and Maxy for so long!

Feijao looks iffy at the moment but I remember last year saying a similar thing about Torres and Doka. Unfit and lazy!

Diesel Herrington had a shocker for the last 2 games. Out of position and no ticker! Looks like a deer in the headlights!

Losing Sainsbury and Tapp have exposed Paull and Herrington before they are ready.

Formation is not working. Wingbacks are getting isolated and shutdown going forward so have to go back. Kaltaks distribution is shocking and also not helping!

Rambling over!

Today reminded me a lot of the shithousery years. Still early days though and our thin squad is a bit depleted. Really nothing being offered in the front third, ball went backwards and we turned it over.

Two goals from errors at the back, one handball and one defender too deep keeping them onside.

Bring on the next match FTS

I think we can safely say I was worried this time last year. However, what I’m feeling now isn’t eorry. It’s graduating to a sad acceptance.

Biggest difference from last year is that we were losing games while trying to find our best combinations. We had players.. we were trying to figure out which were going to work. You had players like DWH and Wilson ending up on the bench because they had better players ahead of them. This isn’t the case this year.. we are literally putting up what we have. The DWH and Will Wilson’s and Nathan Paul’s (sadly we still have the last two) are getting put up because we have nobody else. Frankly.. that’s terrifying. 4 rounds in? Jesus.

You can tell the players aren’t gelling, the play is static, clunky. They are frustrated and turning on each other.

We actually have no guarantee at all that this situation can improve. The new owner with his flashy funds and promises is gone, we have resumed the old programming.

I loathed Peil but today felt like Mulvey days.

Not feeling hopeful at all.

I doubt we can go that bad ever again as it really cant afford to for the long term future of club

Been hesitant to post as have nothing positive to add to that display. We know Jacko is a good coach but hard to turn this pigs ear into a purse. I don’t blame him or the formations, not sure Sains is going to save this season either. Our midfield is the problem and we have no quick fix or options, it’s dire that we want a 16 year old to save us. I hate to say it but Steele isn’t looking like he is going to make it. Hasn’t improved at all after 9 games and I don’t think he is going to. Some seem to just hang Paull out to dry but there are quite a few performing at Paull’s level. I don’t think he should be getting called out on his own.

After that do people still feel there is a comparison to last season???

The stats are bad, have not one a competitive game this season from Aust Cup, ACL and A League. Scored 1 goal in four games of A League. Tonight’s crowd was woeful in my opinion, next home game at 6pm on a Sunday will be lucky to get 4K especially as we will continue to lose games up until that game. It’s hard to go up a hill but easy to go down. I fear we are on the downward slope.

Last season after watching us lose and go to 0-4 with a new coach, I answered to my son's questions of concern with, "just wait until round 10 to have concerns" lol

Win lose or draw. Have fun. It's a game. Enjoy it while they are here to see, and the gates are open for us to watch

Time to focus on getting the Concrete Cup now
