Chalk up three points against the *other* big yo-yo club and then go have fun in Frottmanning - but this time take three points home rather than throwing two away in the second half. ;)

Hopefully, dibo, hopefully. getting these 3 points will be so important...

anyway, I'm not going to the Allianz Arena as the tickets are way too expensive. Bayern charges 44, approx. AUD 74, for a seat (on level 2) in the away area. that's too much for me!
well, I'd be happy if we gain 1 point away to Bayern...

We have to play the next 2 matches without our skipper as he was red-carded in a friendly last week. Due to the red card he is now suspended for 2 Bundesliga matches and 3 friendlies :(

not really good news as the defence seemed to become more stable since the last match...

5th match, 1st win - finally :)

We won 1:0 against Mnchengladbach at home
Peer Kluge scored the goal after 6mins

We played crap once the goal was scored. Actually, we can be quite happy that Mnchengladbach wasn't able to score as they had a lot of chances
Man of the match was our keeper, Raphael Schfer

Dario Vidosic was in the starting 11 but he didn't do well yesterday. He can play a lot better

Matthew Spiranovic played with the reserves who won 4:1 away to Frth and scored the 4th goal

We are playing Bayern Munich (who won 5:1 away to Dortmund yesterday) away next Saturday.

bayern finally got going then...

great news about spiro scoring and the reserves beating fuerth!

also good to get that win under the belt. results haven't been too bad and it's early season, not too much to worry about. started last year almost as poorly and got promoted! ;)

Thanks for your optimism :) But we have been through any imaginable situation with Nrnberg so we are just happy as soon as we can't get relegated anymore...
That's even the character of us Franconians - complain about nearly anything regarding the Club; even if we win  ;D

Interesting debate on a Australian online sports site... Bundesliga is Europes most exciting league ... with most supporting the argument...

really interesting to read. thanks for it

I especially like this phrase:

Theres an Australian flavour at promoted side 1.FC Nrnberg, with Matthew Spiranovic and Dario Vidosic both calling one of Germanys most beloved clubs home.
  ;D

btw. our match against Bayern Munich will be on Australian tv this weekend

Matchday 6 - Bayern Munich V Nuremberg

Nuremberg, featuring Aussies Matthew Spiranovic and Dario Vidic, face a red hot Bayern Munich who last week ended Borussia Dortmund's 19-game unbeaten run at home with a 5-1 thrashing.

Just reading above happy, you said that Vidosic didn't have a good match against Gladbach.
That's a pity because i was watching the Bundesliga highlights show and saw that Pim Verbeek the Australian coach was watching.
I think Vidosic wishes Pim was at matchday 4's game insted of last weekend

And yes i agree about the Bundesliga being the most exciting. My favourite league outside of EPL and A-league.

IT'S DERBY TIME!!!!!

we don't have any chance regarding today's match away to Munich...
50 matches between these 2 teams have been played in Bundesliga 1 so far: Bayern won 30, Nrnberg 11

the last time we played away to Munich was in last year's cup in September: we lost 2:0

we gained the last point away to Munich in August 2006 (0:0) when we left Munich as top of the league :)

I'll be satisfied with a 0:0 draw today, but honestly, I think that we will lose 2:0 or 3:0 :(

well, the match wasn't the disaster as we all thought. just lost 2:1 :(
Bayern didn't play that well as we had focused on the defence; Vidosic was the sole striker

we gained a 0:0 at half time

we were close to a surprise as we scored the 1:1 just 17 mins before the end of the match

although it is sad that we lost a point, we have to focus on the match against Bochum on Friday - a win is essential

before that we are playing our 2nd round cup match against Hoffenheim at home on Tuesday evening

We played our 2nd round cup match yesterday. lost 1:0 at home against Hoffenheim, so we are out of this competition.

honestly, we didn't derserve a win as our performance was pretty poor. It is obvious that we lack of a striker who is able to score. our trainer and manager have both been wrong judging on this position and the strikers we have...

hopefully, the match on Friday against Bochum will be better as we urgently need 3 points...but, how to score without a striker ??? ??? ???

I am speechless, don't know what to say about yesterday's performance.
it was crap!! we lost 1:0 at home against Bochum...

Something has to happen quite soon otherwise relegation is close...

you're right...

the match was even worse than the one last week...

both Spiranovic and Vidosic started; Spiranovic starting was a surprise as he hasn't played a Bundesliga match for nearly 1 year; the reason he was starting was that he his 10cm taller than Maroh...what a strange reason???

well, Leverkusen scored the 1:0 after 2 mins, a free kick, but Spiranovic didn't commit a foul before...
there was no real effort from us to score the equalizer. thus, we conceeded the 2:0 which was a penalty, and after 32mins the 3:0...
fortunately, Leverkusen played a lot slower in the 2nd half time and just scored 1 more goal...

our performance was the worst I have seen in ages...

although it was only the 8th match day we had the 8th different starting XI on the pitch; yesterday we had 4 new players compared to last week
we just scored 4 goals in these 8 matches

really curious what is going to happen at the upcoming FIFA match break; I really hope that we sign an umemployed striker (which we are allowed to) and get rid of the coach...

Don't know if the information that is said is true, but if it was, then it is bad news on Spiranovic:

it is said that the coach picked him, who has played his first match after nearly 1 year, as the scapegoat for the match and the loss away to Leverkusen last week.
it is also said that he should look for a new club :(

we played a friendly yesterday - without Spira...
