ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Songs 'N Chants

I introduced that at a Newcastle away game earlier this season. It was never meant to become a full time thing. Disagree that it’s pointless - seems to spur people to go harder, the noise when everyone explodes into it is 10x louder than the chant being done normally. Very cool visually too - I had a pretty decent view of it on Saturday

Never going to make everyone happy. Tbh I don’t like the “we sing for yellow” response, I’ve always been in the “we sing for mariners” camp, but it ain’t up to me to change it now.
f**k it was loud on Saturday though.

Yeah I've never liked the Yellow response either. Unfortunately brought in by a previous leader who is long gone.
First time we did that chant was 08 and even though I don't like it. I'd take We Sing For Yellow over some of the other trials we did.

Not popular I know but I always thought having the same syllables as LFC made an easy transition for Mariners. Trying to get people to sing on mass and loudly requires something really simple, especially when they're not members. Replacing Liverpool with Mariners ???

Used to be done back in the day but people tried to go too fast and it fizzled out

This one’s much more simple and it’ll sound like Ma riners, Ma riners, Ma riners. Bit boring and probably won’t work but just putting out an idea

To the tune of: Heaven Is a Place on Earth

By the palm trees plays a football team,
Kissing the badge is what it means,
No matter what we'll always follow you,
Central Coast the yellow and blue!

La lala lalalalala, la lala lalalalala, la lala lalalalala, la lala lalalalala.

I've suggested it before but got no interest... the Arsenal song is perfect for ripping off as has a good tune and is very easy to learn.

Adapted for our use it would go:

And it was Mariners
Mariners FC
By far the greatest team
Australia's ever seen

And it was Mariners etc

Proper football tune that could inspire the non-singing majority to join in.

What is the name of the Arsenal song that you suggested?

Yeah, a few have used it, but I suspect it was Arsenal first - not least as it scans best with a three syllable name.

You could use Australia's ever seen as realistic. No-one truly believes the Mariners are the greatest team the world has ever seen, although it might be suggested that you're not a proper fan unless you believe they are.

There was no GF in 2008

(When I was abducted by aliens and mind-probed, that day was the one erased from my memory)
There was meant to be a GF in 2008, we were all down Foveaux St at the KB then marched up to the SFS in great spirit and voice, only to find the gates locked and a notice advising that for unforeseen reasons the 2007/08 A League GF had been called off. Thousands of Mariners fans traipsing away to the nearby pubs or back to Central for the train home was a sight to see. Felt like the air getting let out of a giant balloon.

Biggest let-down since the ending of Monty Python & The Holy Grail...

Mind probed?

You were lucky...
I'll say. They missed the crushing disappointment of being full of piss and song and ready to win the Premiership/ GF double at the expense of the Scum, only to be turned away at the gates and realise we'd never know for sure it would've happened.

How about we celebrate some of our iconic players in a chant?

To the tune of Mademoiselle from Armentieres

"Central Coast Mariners, We're the best
Central Coast Mariners, We're the best
Monty Wilko Gumps n Matt
Cummings Nizzy Jed-i-nak
Storm, Danny, Kuols, Kal-tak"

Its rough but feel free to improve it if the chanters go with the idea

Your sports team is vastly inferior
That simple fact is plainly obvious to see
We're gonna kick your collective posterior
Of course you realize we're speaking figuratively
Our stats are thoroughly impressive
Our coach really has the Midas touch
Our players are fast and strong and brave
And your guys, eh, not so much
In fact we've played teams across the nation
And you're the worst one we've come across
Try to assimilate that information
And it just might help you cope with your impending loss
Oh, and if somehow we are still failing
To effectively articulate the points at hand
Allow us now to summarize them in a manner
That your feeble brains can understand
We're great (we're great)
And you suck (you suck)
We're great (we're great)
And you suck (you suck)
We're great (we're great)
And you suck (you suck)
You see there's us (we're great)
And then there's you (you suck)
We're really, really great (really great)
In contrast, you really suck (really suck)
Okay, full disclosure, we're not that great
But nevertheless, you suck
Your sports team will soon suffer swift defeat
That theory's backed up by empirical evidence
We're gonna grind up your guys into burger meat
Again, of course, we're speaking in the figurative sense
What's the use of even going through the motions
When you know that you're gonna lose anyhow
So why don't you save us all some time
And give up now (you suck!)
