ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Songs 'N Chants

lack of participation is one of the biggest problems FRONT AND BACK....the chants fail because what looks great on youtube being being done by 200 when replicated by 5 ppl will harldy sound as good yet if 200 joined in you would get desired result....
new chants fail because of this and altho have massive potential are never heard of again...
yet chants like "everywhere we go" EI EI EI" and "goal keeper your shit" still get a run surely only because ppl know them from year 6 swimming carnivals...
there is a attitude of "im doing my bit im here" in bay 16, its not enough at all...by a long shot

"im glad im not the only one annoyed by this noise" and ppls reactions when asked not to make it and instead help in the chant is a echo of most of the bays attitude...

i agree i am hard headed in the way i wish the bay was and get quite frustrated when things dont happen, but surely that shows passion for wanting to create a real football atmosphere at our home games, we are suppose to be an extra edge for the team....we are sorely lacking in that department

bit by bit will be a long way and we need alot of ppl to really stand up and join in......new or been here a while, the only way to improve is ACTIVE particapation
ITS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO JUST STAND IN BAY 16

im still up in the air about the middle i think it works better than the back but thats debatable
the group in middle with help from back does work very well but gettin co ordinated is tough.

Im not a fan of this "thats just the way it is" attitude its possibly why the bay has slipped so much....

easy way to learn new chants is THIS THREAD its what its here for..the kendall doesnt work as many ppl dont go there who are in the bay...
the new chants we are tryin are not that complicated "lyric wise" hardest part is getting ppl to use their arms..altho i dislike mariners *clap clap clap* in the 89th min when the whole stadia was doing it and the bay were all doing over head clap it showed a glimpse of what could be....

sorry for grammmmma and speeelllling haha

very well said part_timer!

debating whether the chants should start at the back, middle or front is irrelivant! it should be starting in the whole bay 16 and reaching the rest of the stadia!

What I'm saying is there's a balance between 'accepting things for how they are' and 'it could be so good if everyone just joined in and did it'.

You have to have high expectations, but you have to be realistic.

You're never going to get it to where you want it to be by trying to force it overnight. Over the last month or so that's only served to cause infighting and alienate people.

The people who are trying to drive the bay forward, as in the song leaders and most active supporters, have done well imo to get things to where they are. We have some good football songs and not that many shit ones these days.

But like I said, the bay isn't going to become awesome in one or two games. Throwing in the towel won't help. Neither will throwing the rattle out of the cot, which is what I've seen since boxing day. Not every song that looks good on youtube will work for us, and not every new song you might like is going to be liked by everyone.

You're much better served working on it slowly, over time, and convincing people. Putting them out and abusing them I think will turn the mass against the concept of new songs and leader figures.

I'm not saying it's about just accepting "that's the way it is" and giving up. It's about looking at the bigger picture.

i think one of the mods should set up a thread titled "Songs we need to learn for bay 16"
place songs into the thread maybe one or 2 new ones a week which we should learn.
then lock the thread so people dont get confussed about what songs they should learn and put a link to it on the home page.

we can discuss in this topic what songs we want.

i remember printing about 2k songsheets some years ago. they were handed out by myself and a few others across the middle several bays of the northern end. it made for a lot of confetti and paper aeroplanes, not that much more noise.

We all agree that the only chant universally accepted by the entire stadium is the "Mariners... (clap, clap, clap)" chant. Why? Beacuse it's easy. Think of another easy chant, something like "C'mon you yellow" or something similar. What if during the wave for cash promotion at half time, the guy on the mic tells the crowd that they must chant "C'mon you yellow" (or similar) in order to win the cash? He could lead the chant and once the crowd pick it up, he could stop. Hopefully the crowd will realise how good it sounds and keep it going by themselves.

We've all seen how desparate some people are for $1000 and the lengths they are willing to go to win the cash. If it means singing a new chant then I'm sure it would be done with gusto!

Over time, it might become part of the crowd's repertoire and who knows... maybe in 10 years time we could see the whole stadium singing something other than "Mariners... (clap, clap, clap)".

The crowd still wave their gratuitous advertising signs but instead of pointless yelling, why not some coordinated chanting?

Good idea to get the whole stadium onto a select few songs, bit of a sellout but.

an easy yet succesful chant to use for this would be "We all follow a yellw ftbl team" i.e see how easily socceroos supporters have adopted "ole ole aussie aussie" "aus-tra-lia nahnah"

slower, yes. but it's farking loud. it carries beautifully. the pace is good.

oh, the drums should be on the claps too, that's the other thing i'd change... [totters off to reshape economics and world politics as well]

ok.. just a heads up guys. my group sit in the away bay for most of the games except scum and fc only due to the high numbers that they bring with them and the avalibility of seating.
there are between 10 and 20 of us usually which isnt much but we give the away fans alot of crap with our chants and they give it back just as bad like last weeks game with Roar 5 coppers watched us all game and we got threatened to leave but all was good (we are use to it)and we had a few beers with those boys at the leauges after. which is fun.
apparently you marinators arnt taken that seriously as a "firm" or hard core supporters as they put it. so even though we dont sit with u guys we all follow the same team so id love to see your mob fire up and Intimidate away teams.

Come on boys semis are close lets fire up
