ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

*Sigh* I don't even know yet...
Our memberships have been lost in transit they think...so they are going to re issue.
Was good last week though, Ivan bumped us all up to Platinum ;D
I'll post when I find out. U?
Bay 27 up the back just in front of Lyall Gormans box.
Dare you to knock on his window and wave.
Actually it's a bit of a who's who of Australian football in there usually....especially for big games.
And they sit out in the open to watch the game.....not sure what the champagne sippers make of the drunken, swearing mixture of Aussies, jocks and pommies sitting in front of them.
One thing I find funny is they don't have a toilet in there....the champagne sippers have to line up for the bog like the rest of us!

ATM I'm leaning more & more towards Sailing.

Song-wise it's about as close to perfect as you'll find (lyrics, melody, tempo, format & duration).
Not too sure if the Rod Stewart version has the right sound though.

However a version anything like this:
.......

here's a thought! we can sing multiple songs! ;)

I'm sure multiple options will probably reach the "give it a try" phase.

As well as singing them before and during matches, I imagine a good way to see what could work best might be to throw together a highlights video with the suggestion as the soundtrack. ...or, for that matter, footage on a loop with multiple alternate soundtracks.
Give it a few runs in the Kendall and/or on YouTube and see and what sort of feedback there is.

If it starts with us and then gets sung at the ground, pubs and even at post match functions, it will catch on over time (a few seasons). I doubt Anfield went from zero to 50,000 people singing YMWA in one game??

I think you're confusing You'll Never Walk Alone (YNWA) with the Village People (YMCA)

Sorry Greeny... take it as a compliment... I actually read what you have to say.

+1

The more I think on it the more I can see the whole stadium singing "sailing" together one day... I only wish it were perhaps a little more intimidating (but can't always have everything)

Great post on music rights and have to go via the club etc obviously too, I have to deal with music rights with my work, and a cover would indeed be the way to go as the club (provided they were interested etc etc...) would only have to procure/fork out for 1 set of rights and not two. As to what procuring the exploitation rights to sailing or say elvis would cost, there is no set fee, generally speaking its entirely negotiable and at the discretion of the producers/label... though I'm a bit unsure of exactly which exploitation rights we would need to just specifically play at a stadium... but sure I could find out fairly easily...

What you propose Floss and Greenpole sounds like a very realistic way forward to me, and just a bout as organic as you can get I would think...

Numbered song sheet containing most suggestions in this thread is attached ready for the Scum game on Friday night. Hopefully it will help create a bit of unity. I will print a bunch of them and take them to the game. Probably put them on double sided A5 so they're easy to shove in your pocket while your holding a pie and a beer. Everyone else is welcome to print copies too - the more the merrier.

At the game, I'll pay attention to what doesn't work and what does work. If something works it stays on the sheet. If something doesn't work, I'll be open to suggestions in this thread for improvements to the song/chant to make it work. If it seems like it is never going to work at the game, it will come off the song sheet so something else can be added.

Lets fire the fark up farken!!! :eek:verhead: :eek:verhead: :eek:verhead: :pirashoot: :pirashoot: :pirashoot:

No one raaaates us,
No one raaaaates us,
No oooone raaaates uuus,
Weee don't caaaaare!

We're the Maaaaariners!
From Bay siiiiiixteeeeen!
No one raaaaaates us!
Weeee dooooon't care!

And then for the second verse we replace the lyrics with 'Na na na na' like we do in the second half of the "You are a bogan" chant.

:grouphug:
Part 1:

Hearts to hearts and hands to hands,
Beneath the Yellow & Blue we stand,
We shout, God bless our native land,
Central Coast, Central Coast

Part 2:

Out we come, out we come, out we come to play,
Just for recreation's sake to pass the time away.
Lots of fun, heaps of fun, enjoy yourself today,
The Mariners are hard to beat, when they come out to play.

Part 3:

So join in the chorus and sing it one and all,
Join in the chorus, the Central Coast is on the ball.
The Central Coast Mariners, they're legends you'll agree,
The Mariners will be champions, just you wait and see!

:grouphug:
To The Tune Of The Ants Go Marching In:

We sing our songs behind the net
coastie, coastie.

We always stick it up the jets
coastie, coastie.

we'll go in tackles with studs up
'n we'll come out laughin' with the cup

'n the the coasties keep singin
were gunna win the league
were gunna win the league

:grouphug:
he puts the ball into the net
sasho sasho
he likes to stick it up the jets
sasho sasho
we bought the lad down sydney way
give him the ball he'll put it away

sasho petrovski number 22

:grouphug:
We're faster than most
coz we're from the Central Coast aa-ha
We're faster than most
coz we're from the Central Coast aa-ha

Sydney can boast
but theyre not the Central Coast aa-ha

but focusing on the chorus is the key to this chant, the simple Nahnahnah bit leading to the ooooh CENTRAL COAST! at the end of the chorus...
If we keep singing this it will click, this is something people here on there shitty 2GO stations all the time and would be familiar to the tune.

I get the feeling I will be wasting my time printing them out though. No support for the idea what-so-ever in the other thread.

i agree with bear, it's less handy as a handout than as a reference for newbies. having a locked up thread with its first (/only?) post being a song list ain't a bad idea.
