ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

read it! still say he'd have little reason to be outspoken here. That's not saying he should be here...
I don't think he would come to pay for us after that friendly at budgie when several of the fans were bagging him out, was hilarious. Heard him after the game bitching to one of the other players about the fans

I reckon we should take that sign down now - this is serious business not a group of friends. I dont like a number of people I work with but so what??

+1

Beat me to it FFC.

Take it down.

I hear what you are saying but  consider the following:

The Mariners needed to become involved in the community in order to cement their place on the Central Coast. One can argue that the community connection that was so successfully established over the first 3 years on the HAL fell away in the forth (post match functions anyone???). As a result we have posts on this forum form soft-cock supporters debating whether or not to buy a season ticket next season. Is it a fair statement that their must still be a "no dickheads" policy (of sorts) in order not to alienate the community further?

Personally, I'm for abolishing the policy but I can also see the ramifications on fair-weather supporters if we do. Keep in mind that we will have an NRL team full of dickheads here in the next 3(??) years so Dads and (especially) Mums will be seeking a more agreeable alternative. Maybe now's not the time to pull down that NO DICKHEADS shingle that is nailed to the door of our front office

Personally I don't really give a toss about stuff like post match functions and tbh I don't think they're a good idea anyway.Especially if they've played shit and been booed off!

I think the community stuff should be kept to any day other than match day.

On that subject is it just me or has the community stuff dropped off a fair bit in the last year or so?

My kids come home from school on a fairly regular basis saying "dad the Swannies were at school today"........it's the local AFL club not the Swans but thats how the kids see it.They've also had RL people there but the kids have never once mentioned the Mariners.

That's where the future of CCM is.......local kids. They should be out there every other day on school visits etc.

And as long as they're not out raping and pillaging I think we could handle a "personality" or two.

You're right the future is the kids. Which is exactly why we should have post match functions. They're not for us oldies, they are there for the kids to mix with their heroes. I saw a lot of devastated kids in the bowling club when they found out the players weren't attending. If you want to encourage kids and ensure they come back let them be able to talk the the players and get their autographs. It would also help if some of the players actually spoke to the kids instead of grunting by the way.

Perhaps Hutch talks to level five only.

I don't like hutch much but I had a chat to him once at budgie after a trial with jets and he seemed willing to talk and happy for some reason and he approached me and said hi then talked about how his leg was (he was injured at the time). Don't know if this was a one off random act of kindness from him but i thought he was ok

I take you're point about the kids at the aftermatch functions.I just think there always the potential for problems straight after a match.....you know supporters full of beer, players grumpy after a defeat etc.

They can do all sorts of things for kids at other times when everyone is more relaxed imo.

For example the kids Christmas party thing out the back of the stadium and at Mingara in previous years. My kid got plenty autographs etc and the players and LM were all very friendly and made a fuss of the kids.

And they should be going to local schools on the kids sports day.

Fair call arab. You make fair points. Don't mind me, I'm a bit grumpy tonight.
LOL

Being grumpy's allowed.

Don't know how we got onto this in the "scum in turmoil thread" though! ::)

Get rid of the no dickheads policy. Yes.
But someone like Ljubo would gain our club attention for the wrong reasons. How long will it be until he spits a volley of abuse at one of our players, or staff and go to press saying HE deserves better etc etc. I agree with Con in saying that He says he is all for the players but really the players would not piss on him if he were on fire- He seems like a selfish fk who is just out to extend his career and there is no controlling this guy. A player like this would happily play for us for a month of so then fk off to Asia or some Baltic league.
Keep the no dickheads sign for people like this, but we do need a big of angst and aggression on our field.

+ 1, Angst and aggression yes, but no juvenile brain explosions which lead to giving away stupid penalties

Believe me, I aint too unhappy to have him, even if he doesnt make the first squad, his experience will help the youths sumthing mighty if he plays with em.

Don't want Ljubo at our club, now matter how good his football. Theres no "i" in team and a season isn't won with one player.
