ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Was in Sydney for an event but got to see most of the 2nd half.

No doubt the "penalty" has been thoroughly discussed on this thread (I threw a half brick at my sister's TV) but what most pissed me off was Kuol.

Seriously... how many times has he been guilty of not taking a chance? Getting stuck on his heels when he should've gambled?

He jumps ahead of his marker yesterday, and scores a tap in.

That's why the much maligned McLaren was so good. He always gambled. If we had a McLaren we'd be on 9 points.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with Mark and the staff to deliver what they want, developing programs that are going to help the playing squad to perform at the highest level.” Benton added.

How'd that work out for Trent?

Essentially we have had a win and two losses, points wise. I get that still puts us ahead of last season but it’s dire. We just seem incredibly thin in talent and the goals.. where are they? It’s not even just that we are lacking a striker, we are lacking a creator, a play maker, cohesion. I think our defence has been better but if Tapp’s out.. that’s super dire.
I’m not seeing us getting our shit together, I see us running on empty like we did back in the spoon days. Talented players going elsewhere while we run on vapours.
I would love to be optimistic but geez. Not feeling it 😔
I wouldn’t recommend no 21 positivity in the Melbourne cup then 😂

In Jacko we trust. He doesn’t have the special wingers he had last year or monty had but i see progression through the middle and back. So give him time to sort it out. I think he earnt that last year.

If he doesn’t sit back and enjoy the young boys learning the game and being the next success stories.

I’m sorry mate, but what are his strengths right now? Pressing defenders?

He’s a tall, relatively strong striker. Best attributes are physical. We get plenty of balls into the box, he simply does NOT attack them. Doesn’t win headers, can’t link play with touches. One of our better attacks yesterday where the cross went far post and was then hit first time back across the 6 yard. He was a good 8yards off the pace. That should be his bread and f**king butter but he was absolutely nowhere to be seen to slide tap it in. He then preceded to defend a cross FOR glory by wiping out Bailey who was coming onto the cross.

His perceived strengths, we do play to them. Balls in behind, crosses into the box. He ain’t effective. He ain’t doing his job right now. He should have improved as a footballer by this point in his career. The commentary said it perfectly and I hate Robbie Thompson whoever it is, he basically said Kuol wastes his energy pressing so much he can’t be effective in attack. Mcbreen (who would actually know) agreed. He’s a f**king striker, not a CB playing upfront.

I fully understand we don’t have the squad strength right now so I’m trying not to be too critical, but Alou has been so f**king disappointing and infuriating with what he’s produced, combined with this obscene cockiness. Eddy isn’t much better of a goal threat right now either but at very least he’s shown signs of being the guy to lead the line. Good touches in link play, always great movement and usually smart use of the ball. Case in point his play that led to last weekends equaliser.

Rich’s biggest mistake whilst here was rubber stamping our only ever paid transfer fee to bring Alou Kuol back here. It’s not Sunday league, effort plays to press a defender shouldn’t be celebrated as goals.

Sorry for the rant, but f**k me.
That's what I said, effective impact player for the last 20-30 mins currently being used as a starting forward and quite obviously been told to press relentlessly, result is he's knackered when chances come his way.

Few chill pills needed. Our squad has been gutted and the replacements are not as good as the players who have left.
We also have injuries to 3 players who would have started yesterday (Sains, Theo and MDP) in addition, Tappy went off early.
Perth were well organised and I thought it was a pretty good away performance from them.
The fact we don't have a quality striker isn't news. Kuol has been honking since he got here and Edmo is Kwasi like at best.
Rebuilding and top 6 at best I reckon.
And a change in formation to fit the weaker defenders and loss of premier midfielder to the backline.

We know Jacko practices flexibility and he fluttered with this formation for a bit last year but I don’t think it’s his preferred option

It's a pragmatic change, one we'll probably see a lot more of until Sainsbury is back into the side.

You rarely see him give his marker the slip at all. Not dropping off to make space either. If he can't out run them theyve got his measure of late

Wasnt there some talk he went to Perth?
I remember seeing that the translater went to Perth, don't know about Bryce
