ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

New coach - now we know

Jeez everybody working hard to find the negatives on him. I am reading that he took over somebody else's team that had been put together on a budget with no depth, got them to the fringes of the play off and then had a bad run with injuries. So the jury still out as to whether he would be a good head coach

But we recruited him as an assistant not a head coach and both Mark Jackson and Carlos Coberan seem to rate him in that role. He is another one from the Bielsa years at Leeds and has got himself a sports science degree as well as any coaching tickets. Sounds like he may have the potential to be a good young coach. Welcome to the Mariners Danny and good luck in the role.

Of course it might help with the positivity if the club informed us of the appointment with a nice media release rather than us having to rely on the local rag of the team he just got stacked from and wikipedia to get his bio. I believe he has been in the country for around 3 or 4 weeks, this is not new news.

Sounds familiar so far! Would have been nice to have either a coach or an assistant that'd come from a winning environment.

Early days though...hopefully they're a success.

Back office seems to be (kindly) a dumpster fire - 24 hours before a home game, immediately following an email campaign. Not one single member of corporate sales is at work (I assume there is more than 1) - thats a pretty basic error. Did they expect no one to take them up on it?
Hardly surprising they dont announce a coaching appointment to be fair.

In the near future we may not exclude half the population as candidates for manager.
We have female officials, Staj managed female teams, just a matter of time.
Doesn't Wiegman have a reputation for being a very good tactician? So why not, there's plenty of spud men getting repeat gigs.
