According to Adelaide Facebook page...
Rumours that Mitchell Duke is signing with them for next season...?

Well, that would piss me off; presume that Arnie thinks Baird is a better player?

Matic made the last group of Nike's 'the chance'. One of the top (unsigned) talents in the world as identified by Nike scouts

Another terrific result, well done to Tony Walmsley and the coaching staff and, of course, the players. Really hope we can hang on to the talent and some make it to the bigtime but salary cap and roster restrictions, and Mariners traditional lack of cash, will make it really difficult. I believe that clubs can add two youth players to the roster in addition to the 23 at a certain salary (can't remember what it is) but clearly the money is hard to find.

Yes, but this is where I hope our ties to Sheffield United might help and, in the future, the Mariners Centre of Excellence. If the players can see that there's the possibility of trips to United's training camps and possible recognition (e.g. Sainsbury, Warren I think it was wasn't it?) then we won't have to pay as much to keep such players with us. When we've got the Centre of Excellence and presumably the training expertise to go with it, that will be a more immediate benefit for young players that should make up for a reduced salary. . I hope so anyway.

won 1-0 against brisbane at pluim in heavy rain with a goal coming from fitzgerald in the 35th minute. Griffiths, Doig, Lewis all played, baird was also on the pitch, but isnt worth mentioning after todays performance. Duke also played, came off after about 60 minutes, Bernie didnt play, so could be on the bench tomorrow

like the seniors the yoof finished 2nd in their league. A great performance after only coming together two weeks prior to the start of the comp (as the early results show) but since xmas the results have been outstanding and with that the mariners have a number of this team ready to step up and a small problem is that there are probably too many of them (in one go) so possibility of losing some of them.

congratulations to all involved

Good luck to him. It is a free society. Having said that would love to have seen him sign for the Mariners.
