ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Aggregate score for the past 3 games is 10-1. And the lone goal was an O/G so it’s really 11-0. Defence (especially compact defence) is baffling- clear the ball, don’t juggle it about at close range and let it get to the opponent at close target range. Surely this message could be conveyed via a Zoom call?

Attack is shut down again and again. I have little confidence the ball won’t be stolen off one of the forwards in the final third, putting us on the back foot again.

I can forgive one shoddy season after the previous 4 seasons of finals and trophies. Thankfully Perth and Brisbane have been worse this season and will finish below us. But we are the worst form team going around right now. First priority has to be improving fitness- it can’t be done via proxy. A fit team is a team who can actually fight to the end. Then we can work at mastering the basics in defence.

The off-season coming is the most critical for many years in club history…

Subjected myself to the presser. Interesting he's starting be more open.
What I heard, in summary:
Players aren't good enough
Some need to go
They have started looking at new players
Lose physical battles
Needs experience in the squad and to "pull the bar up"

I'd guess Feijao, Smith and Wilson are gone
I got uh-oh this has gone to shit, I'm out of ideas tactically, better blame the players/ lack of budget.

Forcing a team to play out from the back that can't...do plan A better. We've seen this before and the results were the same.

Yes but when do go long we don't have the players who can win aerial duels ( Sometimes Kuol does but there is no-one to take advantage) or keep the ball under pressure from aggressive defenders so we lose possession and our opponents mount another attack. This was very evident in this match.Feijao is rightly criticised for his short comings but the other day how was he expected to win duels against Miranda and Hamill-he is small, not particularly quick and his ball control is average.Wilson would have been a better choice as the spearhead .Duarte tried hard in the second hard but was outmuscled by the big Victory CBs.

And Koul.

Hope to have him in training and then see if he makes the squad because he has been shit (reading between the lines).

Was not excited to say we have no striker so would be good to have him and his energy back.

McBreen nailed it during the play we are set up as a circle and have massive gap in the middle.

Missed the game but not disappointed. At least the academy showed guts and scored crackers

Kuol has not been understood by the current coach and played out of position to fit a rigid system. Jackson is trying to shoehorn players into his preferred system rather than adapt to the skills in front of him.
