ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Was chatting with another fan last night who sits near me but we've not spoken before. He looks rusted on. He blamed the entire season's failure on Edmondson and his inability to score for our main visa striker. Interesting perspective. Blaming the whole season on him is somewhat extreme but lacking a mongrel finisher has certainly hurt us badly.
Equal blame needs to go with Kuol then. But the reality is we haven't been connected front to back.

Our defence hasn't solid enough.
Our attackers haven't created enough.
Our midfield hasn't connected from back to front enough.
Our GKs haven't played well enough.

So, essentially the whole team is the problem. The few individuals that are doing enough can't function well in these conditions.

I get that blaming a striker is easy to do when they cannot get the results but it also has to do with the rest of the team doing their job with providing more chances to get the results, don't get me wrong, I also have said similar to my partner about edmonson not being a great fit (and not to mention his work rate is a lot lower than Kuol at the best of time)

Agree to a point. If Edmo has 10/12 goals the whole season changes.
He's a conference journeyman at best.
I reckon it's confidence. When he has no time he just hits it. When he thinks it's in row Z.
A shit Kwas if you like

This is 100% it.

We can heap blame on the GK or the lack of strikers all we like.. but it doesn’t really matter when the whole team isn’t good enough. Thats the sad reality of this season. There are a few gems in there, as you said.. but they can’t compensate for the rest of the team, nor can they function at their best in shit conditions.

I must say, I called this at the start of the season. Many of us did. My comments now about the team are the same as they were back then . Only difference now is that then I carried some hope I would be proven wrong.

Not so, unfortunately.

I would really prefer to have an individual to blame. Your scenario doesn't fit with my narrative. Please get with the program......

If I am at a game we win, the shirt doesn't get washed until I see us lose.
Last season standing near me was no fun at all for anyone.
I did similar for the three trophies I seen lifted in person last season. Needed heaps of BO basher for the GF as Oman was a bit hot.

The shirt I currently wear is my all time favourite and I’m going to stop wearing it until we improve. The team is not worthy of it being worn at the moment.

Lets not forget Jacko. His imports have been wanting. He is no Serge

Based on how much of a micro manager Peil was, I am very interested to know how much Jacko had to do with the signings that weren't Edmo and Alfie.

I agree however, they've been incredibly ordinary, and worst so, unlike Monty, they weren't cut in the transfer window like Monty duds.

You wouldn't want to hang your hat on those two though.
Alfie was touted as a Niz replacement. Not fit to lace his boots

Sergio was the big loss for the club. All of our recruiting visa gems were through his contacts.

The only starters I would keep starting next year are:

- Mauragis (think his potential is much better than his performances and he will only continue to get better)
- Doka (one of the best in the comp on his day, can play a range of positions)
- Migz (because he's great)
- Sains (first season teething issues, I reckon next year will be big for him)

Other than those four, seven starting spots are up for grabs in my eyes.

I'd add Eames and Paull to that lot.
Paul's improvement with a run of games has been one of the few highlights of what has been a dumpster fire of a season.
