ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariner stuff not worthy of a whole thread

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
My young fella went to visit a couple of mates at the Barca soccer training group in Sydney yesterday , he met them at a school that has a 1000 space car park UNDER the football pitch ....our blokes can’t even the grass cut at the COE (I’m being facetious) ....to say I was stunned was an understatement

He's a nothing, a glory hunting turncoat. He gave her the publicity via CCM and launched her.

Leisl has probably attended every school on the Coast many times since the Sydney games. Most kids and their families on the Coast had heard of Leisl well before they ever heard of Lawrie McKinna.

Does this mean Shaun is off the hook for any recruitment responsibility?

Seems it's all on Mike. Time to make some hard calls MikeP.
"Mike Phelan as Sporting director will continue to report to the Board on all football matters including the Hyundai A-League, Mariners Academy and player recruitment. Shaun Mielekamp as Chief Executive Officer will continue to report to the Board on all administrative and commercial operations of the football club, Centre of Excellence and strategic planning."

This is about his fan boy networking. Nothing changes. The people who sign duds, let quality walk and lose games are all still there.
That no one was accountable for Millar says everything about the club under his ownership.

If it is then hopefully someone MC looks up to gives him the reality check he needs. I’m kind of surprised that is hasn’t already happened with the other names he’s associated with previously.

I’m not sure you can hold anyone accountable for the Millar situation. The bloke didn’t care to ask or press us for our offer, he wasn’t interested in sticking around. IMO the failure was giving NPL talent a stage without a multi year or deal with options/triggers to extend. No way Millar was rejecting his second shot at going professional for an extra year clause. Club just didn’t play hardball.
