ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariner stuff not worthy of a whole thread

People are just entitled to be optimistic or hopeful as you are to be upset and frustrated - that's why it's called opinion!

Hopefully that's not the only club related social media the players see... The other side is theres a point where kicking the players just isn't worth it anymore and you just have to grind and bare it.

I think had we lost or drawn tonight we might have had an announcement to lift spirits but with the win the club wants to let the boys have their night and can do it in the next few days instead.

Central Coast revival
After 10 straight losses, the Central Coast Mariners are back.

Fresh from their surprise 2-1 midweek win over Melbourne City, the Mariners approached Sunday’s match against Brisbane Roar with a confidence not seen since round one’s reverse fixture.

And while both sides settled for a 1-1 draw, Mike Mulvey’s men were not without their chances.

In fact, the Roar dodged a bullet midway through the second half after referee Matthew Conger failed to rule on a potential handball inside the box, despite consulting the VAR’s initial intervention.

“This is my take on it: the referee didn’t give it. Somebody in his ear said, ‘you better have a look at this’,” Mulvey said.

“He’s gone and had a look at it and then he’s not gone and overruled himself.

“Who would overrule himself? ‘No, I saw it right the first time’.”

Three points would have seen the coastal club leap off the foot of the A-League ladder for the first time since round two.

Instead, they will have to wait until Wednesday’s F3 derby to avenge their frustration, a match they will no doubt approach with that same newfound confidence.

land is vacant and has been since I can remember. It's in the public's interest to have a professional sporting team. Worse comes to worst sell the land to the club....

She's right that it is valuable land and should be handled properly, wasn't there some discussion here about land for the COE and how that was structured not necessarily meeting what the council expected as a gift to the region's professional sporting team? So maybe there's some reasonable distrust there and if it goes ahead the government will want to make sure the club itself is the beneficiary of any approvals. As a rate payer, tax payer and resident of the coast I want the local and state government to support our regional team but that also means making sure we aren't being taken for a ride either.

Maybe as a Labor pollie she has to take extra care. The Liberals are the ones seen to sell everything off. Poles and wires etc, while Labor have been calling them out over it. Can't be slagging off the other side for selling and giving stuff away and then do it yourself.

It is an empty block of land that has been empty the entirety of my life rather than something the community is actually using it has had plans to do so ever. That's the distinction I make.
Maybe the council can partner up to ensure community benefit rather than gifting or selling.

I understand where you're coming from but you only get one shot at it so better to wait for the right proposal and do something really beneficial. If it's tied up to the team properly it's a great anchor to the coast. If it's not done properly MC ends up with a great asset and if the club goes away he still wins. There's a healthy amount of cynicism and scepticism that should be exercised to ensure the proposal benefits all parties for years to come.

Of all the local pollies in our local area Tesch wares the coast on her sleeve regardless of where you sit politically to her community comes first , and in this day off age is refreshing ,I'm all in for progress but not at the cost of community. The proposal looks great and as a fan who wouldn't want state of the art entertainment but we have to be wary of smoke and mirrors.
