ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I think it’s unfair and a bit ridiculous. But not at all unsurprising. While I feel massive for his family and for Sergio and Miguel, it’s a massive risk they took, knowing how brutal the league was.
To think he left us in the lurch and we got Jacko and won the AFC Cup and a Premiership and now he’s out of a job.
Weird turn of events.
Feel so sorry for Monty and his family.
So wanted him to succeed in Edinburgh but for a variety of reasons it didn’t work out.
There are some players in the squad who have helped 3 or 4 managers get the sack at Hibs now and they need to be weeded out.
I was hoping he would get a summer transfer window, but after Sunday’s 0-4 loss the announcement wasn’t in any way a shock.
no guarantee whatsoever whomever comes in does any better….club in a bit of a mess tbh.
Monty will learn from his time at Hibs and the experience will make him a wiser and better coach and hopefully he’ll be back in management soon.

The football industry globally is brutal when you’re not getting the results that are required.

Can’t help but feel sorry for each of them but it was their choice to leave a secure job at CCM and chance their arm in Jockland at the end of the day.
At least the brutality is tempered by the fact that there was 2 years left on the contracts so there's a healthy boost to the bank balance incoming.

Hopefully he has got enough runs on the board with his success with us and having a "biggish" name on his CV in Hibs to be able to pick up an English tier 3 or 4, or Scottish tier 2 gig and give him the chance to establish a foothold in the UK market. Coming back here would be a retrograde step for his ambitions

Scottish football outside top 2 is league 1 at best. He failed at that level so he may not find it that easy to get a new gig quickly

Unfortunately not.
Hibs, having left behind a trail of sacked managers on ‘gardening leave’ in the recent past re drafted managerial contracts and inserted a ‘severance’ clause, where by they pay x number of monthly wages in the result of termination.
Its widely believed to be 3 months (a previous sought after manager wouldn’t take the job because he wanted 6 months and Hibs refused to budge) but given Monty’s re settlement issues, he may well have negotiated a longer term.

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
100%.
Poor recruitment practices have resulted in us having 19 players out on loan…..many on extended contracts who will never play for the first team and wouldn’t be wanted by anyone else so they eat into the budget.
it’s fair to say that at this time Hibs are in a bit of a mess.
sounds like the board and recruiting boss need flicking before anyone else
