Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Give Nik another go

SBS story ... nice ... http://www.theworldgame.com.au/a-league/mrdja-overcomes-injury-hell-260412

From that article

Mrdja's contract is up at the end of the season and the Perth-born marksman is hopeful he can prove he is worth a new deal at the end of the season.

"(Mariners coach) Lawrie McKinna has been really good to me and I desperately want to repay his faith and stay at the club," he said.

"The team is going really well at the moment and I am just pleased to be making a contribution after so long on the sidelines."

Lets hope that when it comes to contract time the decision is easy to make for both parties.

Amen brother.
Particularly if Matty gets an offer from OS.

(Cant recall a crowd chanting for a player to be subbed before)
You are kidding those little voices in your head are playing tricks on you. He did just as good as any other player tonight. Im not saying he was great but was far from the worse.

So why was he subbed after 55 minutes? Because he was good?

His dreadful performance was like a beacon of shitness in a sea of dross.

Crowd under 8,000? Will be less with any more of that rubbish

(I will avoid insulting you as it adds nothing to a post)

Tbf Kwassie was just as bad.

And re the crowd.......our usual 7-8,000 with no extras.

We'll never pull extras on a Friday night.....only just made the ko myself.

Mrdja was much better than Kwas who was better than the pitch

I agree PJ.
And all three were better than Matty. In all fairness he should have won us the game and his first touches were in fairness probably his worst of the season. Rusty after injury and I'm sure he will quickly recover and be excellent for us again.

Not very into player bashing. Counter productive 9 times out of 10.

Just re watched the game. Mrdja started well, made no massive errors,  a few good runs, some decent touches, but overall just a bit lack lustre like most of our players.

Lawrie did not sub Nik for being crap. Was clear by the way he and the rest of the bench greeted him when he came off. He left Kwas as the preferred combination of strike partnership with Matty - and Mrdja was giving away the ball considerably less than Kwassie and Crowell tonight.

Don't think Nik deserves to be unduly criticised for tonights game.

He was going as good as anybody until he got belted.Reaction time in his one on one was just a bit slow.
The whole team looked flat and I have a sneaky suspicion that they may have over trained for what was a huge game as in table position.

Whole team was flat but as for the Mrjda Kwas debate i reckon i will raise you a Heff. He was worse than the lot of them.

The talk in the grandstand after the game was quite the opposite. It was said that it was a light and relaxed week as far as the physical side of the conditioning and intensity was concerned. If that was the case then they certainly carried it over into the game and fell on their sword because of it.
