Davids to Sydney?

Davids has been linked with 2 A-league clubs and Sydney is not one.
source Simon Hill.

The only clubs that could fit in Davids would be Wellington, Mariners and clubs such as Newcastle and Sydney as all other clubs have over the number of foriegn players allowed to play in each team.

Personally we need someone in midfield of a creative nature and Davids could fit that role. Imagine him and Mile in centre of midfield we would dominate.

And for all those people who will say he is unfit look at Charlie Miller at Qld and everyone rights him off and see how he is helping the roar scoring their only 2 goals.

+1
I'm loving the thought...
however- he may get injured?

oh and you would think unless the money was significantly better in Wellington that he would choose Mariners for lifestyle? (if he didnt care about lifestyle he could have gone to Asia/USA)
I dunno but I reckon Central Coast > Wellington (No bias at all :p)

The Cap Won't Fit Troisi At Jets

Aug 27 2008 13:24

NEWCASTLE Jets have ruled out breaking the bank to recruit free agent Olyroo James Troisi to the side.
Jets CEO John Tsatsimas today confirmed there was no chance of bringing Troisi into the Newcastle fold because the cash simply wasn't there to pay him.

"At the moment, our cap is pretty much full," he told au.fourfourtwo.com. "There's not much room to move."

The Jets moneyman admitted the club could find the cash if they were to use up their service agreement entitlements - but the club is still firmly opposed to them.

"Our policy is set in stone and we won't divert from that," he vowed. "It's well-recorded and we won't change that unless there is a change in policy at HQ."

But Tsatsimas paid tribute to Troisi and refused to rule him out completely.

"Troisi is a very good player and there's always room for very good players," he said. "But for the moment, I can't see that happening."

The only way Troisi could find a way into the side was if the Jets were to lose a player before the transfer window closes at the end of the week and free up cap space.

Jets skipper Jade North has been linked with a move away from the club, but Newcastle insist they have yet to see an offer in writing.

"With every day passing, the likelihood of Jade going is reducing," he said.

He said the club had heard nothing from any Turkish clubs despite hype about an impending move to Bruce Djite's new club, Genclerbirligi.

"I don't know if there was any contract in the first place," he said. "There was a lot of talk with agents but nothing concrete has come across my desk."

Although the Jets would ideally hope for a like-for-like replacement in the event they do lose North, another Olyroo free agent Mark Milligan is off the club's radar.

Tsatsimas added: "Milligan is a good player but whether he would be a good Newcastle player is another thing. We have to be able to accommodate players."

Along with Troisi and Milligan, fellow Olyroo and former Hereford United fullback Trent McClenahan is also looking for a new club for next season.

Spain makes play for Troisi

VAL MIGLIACCIO

August 27, 2008 12:30am

A GLOBALLY renowned Spanish giant is courting elegant playmaker James Troisi - but not before Sydney FC, Adelaide United and the Newcastle Jets made audacious attempts to secure the elegant southpaw midfielder.

Troisi said yesterday he could be off to his new Spanish club by the end of the week if negotiations were fruitful.

But he said he was reluctant to name the club until the deal was done.

It's believed Troisi will cut his teeth with the club's affiliate side in Spain before making the next step up to the glamour Primera Liga side.

"Primera Liga has a nice style of football as well and it will suit my game. But I really need to concentrate now on club football. I've got my boxes packed and I'm ready to go once I get the call."

Troisi, 20, has also fielded offers from Italy, Holland and Turkey.

He said Sydney FC's John Kosmina offered him a short-term deal to help him gain some valuable game time on his way to Europe.

"Kossie has been good," he said.

"He gave me a call and wanted to know if I was interested in playing short-term for Sydney because of the injuries they had."

Adelaide United also made an approach for Troisi before he headed off for Olympic duty, while the Jets also tried to lure the winger, he said.

But the South Australian-born and ex-Newcastle United midfielder is still coming to terms with the second-worst Olyroos performance in history.

Troisi returned to Adelaide from Beijing last week.

After making his Socceroos debut under Pim Verbeek this year and featuring in a FIFA World Cup qualifier against China in June, Troisi saw just 69 minutes of Olympic action under besieged coach Graham Arnold.

"Obviously I was disappointed . . . I think we're quite far away in terms of matching the best," he said.

"I don't think we'll ever match Argentina or the other good nations.

"They've just got football in their blood."

its got to be Valencia (possibly At. Madrid)
as great as Troisi is he would never be Real Madrid/ Barca quality not even 5 years down the track...Valencia possibly!
Apart from that Sevilla, Villareal and Atletico Madrid (esp. Sevilla) dont pursue players like Troisi!
Any tem aprt from those 6 is definately not a world renowned team (to average football fan)

Come on. I think the above are unfair digs on Kareem.
He made a post. It had a point. It reflected on the topic.
The kid needs a chance to redeem himself and I think the above post is above average for any forum.

Man that would be funny seeing a whole bay or entire group of fanatics singing in these sunnies. You have to make sure that you have the orange tinted lenses as well.
