DUTCH great Edgar Davids is looking for a guest stint in the A-League, and Sydney FC have not ruled out making a move for the dreadlocked midfielder if he drops his asking price.
Davids' long-time international teammate, striker Patrick Kluivert, is also being shopped around the competition. Davids is said to want about $30,000 a game, while Kluivert comes slightly cheaper at $20,000. Sydney are not the only club contemplating an investment, with Adelaide United and possibly Wellington Phoenix also in the mix.
Davids, 35, hasn't played since finishing up with Ajax Amsterdam at the end of last season. Kluivert, 32, is also in semi-retirement after ending a stint with French side Lille last season, and is on the coaching staff at Dutch club AZ Alkmaar as he works towards a full Dutch coaching licence.
Meanwhile, Olyroos winger James Troisi, at home in Adelaide, could also end up in the A-League if he fails to find a new European club within the next few days. Troisi has been a free agent since being released by English Premier League side Newcastle United at the end of last season, and although he has been linked to Dutch sides Roda JC Kerkrade and NEC Nijmegen, neither transfer has materialised.
With the transfer window closing at the end of next week, Troisi is fast running out of options. Sydney FC, who look like being foiled in their attempt to sign another left-sided midfielder, former Adelaide United player Bobby Petta, because of visa problems, could launch a last-minute bid.

Any chance of us having a look at Davids? Kluivert wouldnt be too bad either. f**k it, Troisi would be a good youth marquee!
