ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Any insights into why we don’t have someone wrapping around to the position beyond the back post on set pieces?

A large percentage of balls skip over heads or cleared to wide past back post, taking 1 person from the middle or left/right wing back wrapping around would not harm the short term defence.

Stens, Kuol, Nizzy, Rowles are likely for international duties this year which we could almost feel comfortable with now we have some depth.

Is Tongyik, DDS or any others still within the scope to add to this list?

Especially Tongyik & Rowles at same time is a problem.

And DDS, Stens, Nizzy at once would be also not ideal

All except Ruon are eligible for the Olympics for Aus or NZ. Then you have the March If the home March and June WCQ. Depending on availability (Covid) how many of the os players will be available (able to travel), others may come into play like Ollie and Birraz and even Ruon.

Pretty sure the reason for the hurry with our season is so it’s done and dusted before the Olympics dominate air time.

I think it’s all about Fox, if it’s not finished before a certain date we don’t get paid.

Yeah for sure but I suspect they want to make sure there is clear air for the finals and it’s not just lost in the Olympics. They may be lowballing football but they still want to maximise their return.

Just back stick in general. IMO when you're attacking someone almost always has to attack the back stick. Its just a high % play. Esp in HAL.

Attacking 101. Same as not having a defender on the back post. Rudimentary I would have thought.

Dont want to piss in ya pocket big man but i think you have brought a bit of professionalism to proceedings and the boys have 100% stepped up.
Agreed.

And I don't mean about not pissing in anyones pockets.

Though I don't want that either.

Just so we're clear.

No one will investigate the WSW cap - Lederer runs the League and can get away with it just like his mate Frank did at the Smurfs.

As was mention about Stens - we still have a scheduled home WCQ next month against Kuwait - perfect time for Stens to come on for the final few minutes to lock him in for Australia.

That would be rather difficult given he already has four caps for NZ
