ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I only saw bits on tv. He looked no better or worse than most out there. He rose to the same level of mediocrity as everyone else.

We haven't kept possession well at all this season. Every team does it better than we do.

I think it could be a bit of a blessing if we are organised. It means we need to get our business done early though to have players in and training prior to the game.
I daresay Alfie suffers from Nizz comparisons. I'm used to seeing a short chap in the middle hold possession under pressure and start attacks.

Not getting much of that from Alfie and Harry.

Absolutely. The table never lies. We are where we deserve to be.
Add in the fact we are evidently unfit compared to other teams and you can see why we struggle.

I don't get the fitness thing, surely being fit doesn't need a massive budget? Run some laps or something?

And yes I'm saying this as I smash beers and pizzas and stuff every week yelling at the telly about how unfit the players are. I'm not a professional sports person 🤣

Puts on helmet..... the squad the money spend, improvement from other sides.... we sit were we deserve....
Agree with this . Though I still would have liked to see Trent minus the pec injury at the start of the season, a fit MDP and Tappy not getting another nasty injury. I daresay we may have been a couple of spots higher but not enough to make a difference.

It’s very much a similar system & setup to the relatively unexciting national team Popa football.

Very hard for Alfie and Steele / Eames to show their best work because the system relies on wide football, then cut in when higher up the pitch.

When Alfie and Steele do get the ball they often are probably f**ked from chasing and haven’t really had their foot on the ball much so haven’t had many touches unlike our CB and wide backs.

Can’t compare Alfie to Niz as well because Alfie was even out of action when we did try the 4-4-1-1 like last year.

The current setup is safer and can get the odd win, but not really exciting to any degree.

Just a theory on the fitness thing but I wonder if part of the problem is we've had two seasons of asian football and travel which a portion of this squad has been a part of and when combined with the injuries we've had some players are having to rack up a lot of minutes on the pitch and travel.

I might be an absolute minority, but I think Di pizio is overrated. His first touch is often overcooked and he has to stretch for it, looks on the edge of losing control a lot. Less Rogic, more Jamie McMaster.

I think he has great first touch when not tired but he doesn't yet have the engine to keep it up consistently. There's a big difference between his first involvements in a game and his latter ones.
