ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

CCM v Bulls (Disgusting town centre derby)

I don’t want to write off Herrington, given we wrote off Paull and he eventually came good but jeez… would have to be paired with somebody experienced and with quality. He is very raw and tonight wasn’t a good one for him.
I rate him way more than Paull.

There was no explanation about Paull not being selected tonight and I didn't notice him in the stands. Might be sold and gone already?

Sorry Rod. They were both soft saves. He commanded his box much better and had a good game overall but the two goals were really very average attempts. Once he gets composure he will be an awesome keeper but that may be another 12-18 months away at best.
Mate I fully agree. I just saw the humour in what you said.
Seriously though he needs to do something about his slow distribution. There were so many times tonight we could have been away in attack with a quick accurate release.
Is it that he cannot see the possibilities? Is it Danny's coaching? Is it Jacko wants us to play with a slow structured build up?
Whatever, I don't like it.

Can someone tell me what smith must have done not to even get a look in.
Mauragis cant pass, can't tackle, can't cross and was a liability tonight.
100%. Your most astute comment this year.

He is a coach killer same as Steele.

He has a very high workrate and in a shit side it can look like he is actually doing something.....but he isn't. Faz was a superb young player that could assist, score and defend. Mauragis can intercept but that is it as he has no composure going forward and no tactical nous in defence.

Smith is probably technically superior but he goes missing once he is tired and is defensively suspect as well so I can understand Mauragis being 1st pick this season.

He would be a great player to bring on in the last 20 mins against a tiring defence but he is NOT a starting 11 player.

We didn't really create much.

The 2 goals were a set piece - great delivery from doka and header from sains - and a game of pin ball in the box that fell kindly.

We didn't look like getting anything through our general play.
I’m not implying we were on fire in our attack.

However, after having zero shots on target in 3 games, I acknowledge some improvement.

That interview was 100% clever politics by Jacko.

You could see the (attempted) subtle coordination between the two interviewers when Jacko floated the prospect of building for next year, was clearly pre coordinated.

Alot to read between the lines, Jacko has thrown down the challenge, I also agree that it was a subtle threat to "the owner" that if he doesn't find him, he will take his plan and go to another club.

I thought the same at times tonight and it looked to me he was told to play that way. Or maybe he had 6 put on him last week and was scared to make a mistake. Must be immense pressure being a keeper. It did allow McArthur to reset though.

Anyone care to go through the soft tissue / ligament injuries we have managed this year?

Im not smart on physio stuff, is it fair to say these injuries were contributed to by the fitness and conditioning?

Does it happen if Brice is still here? There is bad luck with Injuries and then there is our 24/25 season...

Who was he going to quickly distribute it to?
Alou drops so deep and we are so generally unfit that no one breaks forward

I also found Jackos comment about Sains injury triggering another plan he has up his sleeve very revealing. Almost as if he was saying, looks like Sains might be retiring early, I have a plan if thats the case
