ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

CCM Boys conquering the world

I actually think it may be a good fit for him

Good chance of game time.
Small club with minimal expectation.
Time to get into the league.
It's in the shop window.
But is it an improvement on the winners of the A League? The Scots like to think that they are a quality league but if you take out the crazily funded top two and MCY here there is little difference in the average SPL club's worth from our average worth. According to Transfermarkt Ross County's market value is E5.63 while CCM's is E5.05. Nizz is the best player in our league and deserves better. Look at what Faz and Max have done. Scouting networks should have picked him up from what he has shown here already. I think Scotland is one of the worst possible outcome for him. His agent must be shit.

The question is will be advance his career if he stays here? He might, but it's highly likely people will continue to ignore him because of his height.
Only so many clubs are willing to take the gamble on him (we know that there is no gamble, but we aren't the ones that need the convincing).

Faz and max are at the start of there careers nizzys now 25, Nland under 5'5", he needs to move. He's wasted in the Aleague.

Once Niz has a foothold in the European football landscape , more people will see his height is no issue.

I would love him to go somewhere better (Portsmouth). However, if he does go to Ross County he will get plenty of game time and with his ability they can finish a lot higher in the table. If he does go there I want to see them move higher than Hibs and he can move on from there.

Even if we don't rate SPL much better than the league there's plenty of people reluctant to trust the level of ALM. It would be a shop window for him that could lead to a better European / English move. I dont love it as a stepping stone but likely more productive than staying here unless he's really working the Japanese or Korean angle in ACL Elite and tbh I doubt we'll be strong enough for that to pay off

This is exactly the crux of the issue, his height. From what I understand there has been some interest but clubs then recoil when they learn of size. They are unwilling to risk it because his “Moneyball” statistics are doesn’t sway the argument. His chances of resale to a richer club is also diminished for this reason.

No one cares about the A-League and he being player of the competition as well. This is why we see very few players going straight to the bigger leagues from the A-League.

For all these reasons the Mariners are also unlikely to sign him if they can’t sell him.

Football is a brutal business.

I wasn't suggesting that he stay here, jut that Ross County isn't much of an improvement [if at all] and that his agent should have done better

His height is such a cop out, he's only a few cm's shorter than Messi. Whichever club takes a chance will be the beneficiaries in the end (and gain a few new fans on here I'm sure)

You can’t honestly compare Nizzy to Messi. Messi is a once in a generation player and we only know the struggles he went through to get where he did.
