ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

We didn't want him. Read the other thread.
This is 100% on CCM

Yeah I know people are saying it, and will believe it if someone comes out and confirms that's what actually happened for sure, but so far all I've had confirmed is:
that he has signed for the scum for a first team contract as his scholarship with us ran out.

Two implications -
First is he wanted the shot at a pro contract and the club let his contract expire so he could take it,

Or second - he was told we wouldn't be renewing and the scum gave him an offer afterwards. If this is the case there is very likely a reason that we don't know about, because it can't be on form.

No one seems to know which of these it was and I'll hold out judgement until I know for sure. There's a big difference between the two.

It was the second. People in the know, know.

That's enough for me if you lads are sure. All I could pick up were whispers and so was reluctant to assume.

In that case there must be a reason I'm certainly not privy to. To the most of us his form is enough to renew him without a doubt, as well as being a long term development.

One option is they thought, like Jordan Murray, he's great at this level but doesn't have the extra edge to be developed and sold at pro level, and that we have better prospects. As someone said football is a tough business.

Another is that there is some issue that isn't made public. I know of examples like this that for reasons of general personal consideration I haven't shared widely before. Again, maybe not. Some may know. Time will tell perhaps.

Where is it harsh? CCM cut him. He went to the scum.
Well I thought saying CCM cut him as though it was a bad move was harsh when we don't know the whole plan. I also got the feeling from the article that he was from Scumland? So going home, no certainty that is correct.

Nope. Both he and James are coasties. Moved to Darwin for a few years with family, then back to NSW. Had a couple of years at the academy up the road before moving back to CCM.

Under the right manager he has potential to be a real weapon. The Irish fella clearly wasn't the right manager.
That attitude has been the same issue across 2 different setups now both with some decent managers. I’m reluctant to put it on the managers at that point and suggest that perhaps he needs to get out of his comfort zone, even stumble or fail, to be open to changing.
