This is inexplicable. That 2nd one in particular, one of the worst attacks I've seen. Usually I can at least think of some explanation for a wrong decision. Got nothing here.
He needs to be suspended. 2nd one was somehow a yellow - MRP needs to invoke the 'obvious error' clause.
Utterly incompetent is the only description tonight.
Our top-tier referees have big systematic problems - but the rot runs deeper than what we see on the field.
I don't like to criticize referees, because most of the time they are just trying to do a difficult job, but he allowed tackles that can end player's careers and punished tiny pedantic things to the sole benefit of a team his employers would mightily do well from if they went through. It was disgusting and ruined the game, Ned Zelic's moronic commentary didn't help, saying "You're not accusing Bonevacia of doing anything malicious are you Simon?!?" Forcing Simon to delicate toe around it and not be seen as criticizing a decision when Bonevacia was clearly just going after Isaías because Zelic has been praising Bonevacia all season and didn't want to seem like the moron he is.

You have said it all JP, Zelic shouldn't be allowed to come commentate WSW games as he only has red and black vision. Disgraceful officiating and appeared they really wanted a Derby for the final. Bit over how much the talk up this Wanderers side. Very little depth as shown by some poor defending and they only lift against SFC. AU is a side that could go all the way under Kurz, enjoy watching them play and SFC will have their work cut out for them to take their first Cup.

Kris Griffiths-Jones to officiate Westfield FFA Cup decider

Kris Griffiths-Jones will become the fourth referee to officiate a Westfield FFA Cup Final on Tuesday when he oversees the showpiece fixture between Sydney FC and Adelaide United at Allianz Stadium.

Griffiths-Jones follows Chris Beath (2014), Ben Williams (2015), and Peter Green (2016) in refereeing a Westfield FFA Cup Final.

Griffiths-Jones will be supported by Owen Goldrick (Assistant Referee 1), Lance Greenshields (Assistant Referee 2), David Walsh (Fourth Official), Chris Beath (Additional Assitant Referee 1), and Stephen Lucas (Additional Assistant Referee 2) for the Westfield FFA Cup Final 2017.

Football Federation Australia (FFA) Director of Referees, Ben Wilson, congratulated Griffiths-Jones and his assistants ahead of Tuesday’s decider.

“I’d like to congratulate Kris Griffiths-Jones and the other five match officials on their selection for the Westfield FFA Cup Final,” said Wilson.

“Kris (Griffiths-Jones) becomes the fourth person to referee this prestigious Cup Final.

“This appointment recognises their strong performances throughout this competition in 2017.

“I wish all the match officials a successful and enjoyable match,” concluded Wilson.

Tuesday’s Westfield FFA Cup Final 2017 at Allianz Stadium kicks off at 7.30pm (AEDT).

Match tickets can be purchased at www.theffacup.com.au/tickets.

Tuesday’s Final will be broadcast LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on FOX SPORTS.

Wasn’t a bad game. Typical Izzo string of good saves then stranded on the goals.

That ball boy deserved a clip over the ears but also appreciate Mat getting struck in for him.

That crowd pretty good for a Tuesday night

Well. That got interesting. Somebody on another forum says they were sitting at halfway, and all that happened is Marone initially went to another BB to get the ball, the BB in question then turned around and stopped paying attention to him, then Marone turned to him. So, an argument from somebody who claims he was there is putting it down to inattention, nothing more.
Either way Marone definitely crossed the line. I'm not arguing that he intended to flatten the kid, but he did the wrong thing.
Simon usually doesn't need much of an excuse to cause trouble these days.

Did happen very quickly and ball but I thought i saw the ball boy turn at the last minute. Maccerone didn’t do much either. Hugged the kid because jje turned his back. Was only way to get the ball in a hurry. Of course could have waited but the panic was on.
Doesn’t deserve anymore than the red IMO

Marrone incident referred to the independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee

During the Westfield FFA Cup Final 2017 played between Sydney FC and Adelaide United on 21 November 2017, Michael Marrone was involved in an incident in and around the 115th minute and was issued with a direct red card by the Referee.

In accordance with the Westfield FFA Cup Competition Regulations, FFA has issued a disciplinary notice to Marrone for engaging in serious unsporting conduct and has referred the incident to the independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee for hearing and determination of the sole question of what sanction should be imposed above the minimum sanction (if any). The minimum sanction for serious unsporting conduct is the mandatory match suspension.

FFA will provide details of the independent Disciplinary and Ethics Committee hearing in due course.

As Marrone was issued with a direct red card, Marrone must serve a match suspension of at least one match and therefore he is ineligible to play in Adelaide United’s Hyundai A-League Round 8 match against the Western Sydney Wanderers FC on Sunday, 26 November 2017.

Disciplinary and Ethics Committee Determination: Michael Marrone
The Football Federation Australia (FFA) independent Disciplinary & Ethics Committee comprising John Marshall SC (Chair), Lachlan Gyles SC and Robert Wheatley (the Committee) convened to consider an incident referred to it, which arose in or around the 115th minute of the Westfield FFA Cup Final between Sydney FC and Adelaide United on Tuesday, 21 November 2017.

The incident involved Michael Marrone (the Player) of Adelaide United and it resulted in him receiving a direct red card.

In accordance with the Westfield FFA Cup Competition Regulations, FFA issued a disciplinary notice to the Player for engaging in serious unsporting conduct and referred the incident to the Committee for hearing and determination of the sole question of what sanction should be imposed above the minimum sanction (if any).

The minimum sanction for serious unsporting conduct is the mandatory match suspension.

The Committee determined that the Player must serve a suspension of two (2) matches, being the Mandatory Match Suspension plus one (1) additional Hyundai A-League match.

The Committee also issued a suspended sanction of a further two (2) matches to apply up until the conclusion of the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 Season. The conditions which will trigger the suspended sanction will be confirmed in the Committee’s written judgement .

As the Player has already served his Mandatory Match Suspension in Adelaide United’s Round 8 match against Western Sydney Wanderers, the Player will be ineligible for Adelaide United’s Round 9 match against Sydney FC scheduled for Friday, 1 December.

The Player has the right to appeal the determination of the Committee. If the Player intends to do so, he must advise FFA within 7 days of receiving the written determination.
