The 252nd derby between Nuremberg and Fuerth takes place tomorrow. This is the oldest derby in Germany as the 1st one was played in 1902 (long before the 1st match between Bayern and 1860) which Nuremberg won 15:0.

An oddity happened in 1924: there was a national match in Amsterdam to which just players from Nuremberg and Fuerth were invited. The players travelled on the same train but in different carriages.

For Fuerth it is the nearest away match this season and also the farest home match (in March next year) as they can get to the stadium in Nuremberg by tube without changing trains.

The last derby was played in 2004 with the result of 2:2. The last time Nuremberg won against Fuerth was in 1997....so it is time to change that history...

We are likely going play with the same team that has won in Ingolstadt last week.
This match is one of the most important ones during the season - not just because that we need the points but because of the rivalry to Fuerth. Not much is worth more than a victory over Fuerth - for the fans of course.

The weather conditions are bad: very cold, snow and storms - fortunately, we have a pitch heating...and mulled wine for the fans...

252 games in 106 years

wow

yeah, but during the last years, mainly when we have been in Bundesliga 1 there have been some benefit matches.

Nuremberg has won 136 matches, Fuerth 70 and there have been 45 draws...

This was one of the best derbies I have ever seen.We won 2:1 but it could have easily been higher as we missed a lot of very good chances - the 1st after 30secs...

Been 1:0 down at half time but played an amazing 2nd half with 2 goals for us.

Vidosic came in after 70mins and did a quite good job - he also had the chance to score but he missed.

As the top 3 teams lost points today we jumped to the 8th place, just 6 points behind a promotion spot.

We are just having 3 matches left until the winter break:Osnabrueck away on next Friday, Rostock at home (with dibo in the stadium) and 1860 Munich away.

Better alert the Stadium Security about that Dibo character, Happy, he's a downright ultra hooligan I reckon. There to cause trouble  :popo:  ;) ;D

Congrats on Nurnberg winning the derby. WE know what it's like to go into a derby with hopes of a win - and the chance that it could all go wrong. A long trip home after losing is not good at all, so it makes a win even more enjoyable.

We now have the chance to proceed further in the table.
We are playing Osnabrueck away tomorrow night (6pm) who are in the lower part of the table. But we have to be aware that they haven't lost a match on a Friday night for a long time.
The last time we played in Osnabrueck was in 2004 when we assured our promotion back to league 1 on that day - that was a good trip back home ;D

Anyway, the team will be likely the same but maybe without Pinola as he has got a flu and it isn't sure if he will be back tomorrow or not.

We were quite sure that we would win that match as we scored the 1:0 after  just 8mins and had Osnabrueck under control, at least for the first 45mins. But in the 91st minute, just seconds before the end, Osnabrueck scored the equaliser...To be honest, we begged for that goal as we didn't do anything in the 2nd half.

We lost 2 points today...

Damn, that sort of draw is so disappointing. 91st minute equalisers suck, eh?

How does that place you in the competition table?

Tonight is the last home match before the break. We are playing Rostock which haven't one a single match out of the last 7 since they beat Koblenz 9:0.

The line-up is the same as last week. We are having the chance of getting as close as 5 points to a promotion spot.

Looking forward to the match and hope it will be a good one with some goals as dibo and his girlfriend are joining me tonight.

Some 30thousand are going to attend the match.

How long does the winter break go for??

Im interested, how can a side go from winning 9-0, where you would assume momentum would carry them to a few more wins..to not winning in 7?

the break isfrom Dec 16 to Jan 30. but I think there are cup matches in the week befort Jan 30.

Don't know how this works. They even fired their coaches and got a new one. Today is the 2nd or 3rd match of the new coach.

We achieved a nice 4:0 win tonight. We played really good and it really looked like football. But Rostock was very bad.
We are now 7th with 4 points away from the 3rd place.

As it was very cold there were  just some 24thousand spectators.

We are playing 1860 away next Sunday.

Ally and I had a great time, even though it was cold. I thought FCN played a lot better in the second half (when we were already 3-0 up). It was great seeing the team, the stadium, the fans - it was a great night out and soothed the withdrawals! After all, my last game was the Wellington match on October 19.

We're going to Munich next week to see Nrnberg play against 1860 Mnchen which will be awesome. Being in the daytime it might even be a little warmer! :)

Huge thanks to Sandra for helping us with the tickets and showing us around, it was fantastic and great fun! ;D

It might be a bit warmer on Sunday although it is snowing at the moment.

It will be an awesome match considering the amount of spectators. According to 1860 some 53thousand tickets are already sold.

It was a pleasure for me. Enjoy your trip through Europe and the match on Sunday.

We are playing 1860 Munich away at the AllianzArena tomorrow at 2pm. This is the last match this year as the winter break starts on Monday.

According to 1860, nearly 60thousand tickets arre sold thereof 20thousand to Nuremberg supporters.
So it will actually be a home match for us ;D

The team is the same as last Monday with Marek Mintal in the starting11.

I am really looking forward to that match although I don't like the AllianzArena.
It will be very cold tomorrow with some snowfall... :-\

there's heaps of snow about (ally and i were throwing it at one another in the englischer garten), so that doesn't surprise me that much. it's pretty cold too, below zero at the moment.

should be great fun though, with a huge derby feel about it. can't wait! ;D
