Bad luck Happy. On the bright side maybe a chance to rebuild your squad and come straight back up.
Also I see Moenchengladbach and Cologne are back up.

Could be good for spira and meggsy. Depending on squad changes. Could get more game time. Though if meggsy is not considered 1st team next season he should move on

you can have him - don't think he can stay with Nrnberg as it seems that the coach doesn't like him. :-\

I don't like the coach at all but he stays for next season

A few days have gone since we relagated but nearly nothing has happened in that time...

We lost Misimovic to Wolfsburg whereas Masmanidis (offensive player from Bielefeld) and Judt (a defensive midfielder from Frth) joined us.

I read somewhere that Meggsy will be a free agent at the end of June which brings me to the result that he will leave Nrnberg  :'(
Mintal said that he wants to stay and players like Wolf and Pinola should stay aswell (I really hope they do so)

I hope that you are still interested in Nrnberg and their performance in Bundesliga 2 as there will be no former Mariners player with us.
But we still have Spiranovic and Vidosic. Don't know what happens to Vidisic but I am pretty sure Spiranovic will stay.

Still interested Happy.Hopefully next season you will be fighting it out at the opposite end of the league.
By the way how many divisions are there in the German league? On the Bundesliga website it only talks about bundesliga 1 & 2 but I,m sure in a country the size of Germany there must be more.

traditionally it goes to regional divisions (a north and a south) after that
though next year i believe there is to be a national 3rd division

I hope so too but I doubt it. I don't think we will be that successful with the current coach...I don't trust in him...

Yes, we do have a few more leagues in Germany.
Actually, the leagues are in a reorganisation process; starting next season we have:

Bundesliga 1
Bundesliga 2
Bundesliga 3
then are the lower leagues where you play against clubs located in a certain region:
the 4th league is divided in North and South
the 5th league are the several federal states

we do have more leagues but I honestly don't know how they are called and their divisions within the federal states

Now it is pretty sure that Meggsy will leave Nrnberg. It was written in a serious newspaper that the Club does not extend his contract although they had the option to do so.
Nothing is written where he wants to move to.

I just read that Meggsy will move to Aalborg, Denmark. I will write more about it when there is more information.

Edit: Nrnberg gets 150,000 as he was still contracted for one year.

I am not that familiar with Danish football but as far as I know he will play either in the UEFA Cup or the CL next season.

Furthermore, Blazek will go back to the Prague.

I am happy that Blazek leaves but sad for Meggsy...

Beechy Signs For Danish Champs - 442

EXCLUSIVE: Socceroo defender Michael Beauchamp has signed for Danish champions Aalborg BK after his old club Nuremburg was relegated from the Bundesliga.
Beuachamp is understood to have flown direct to his new club straight after last weekend's Socceroo World Cup qualifier against Qatar to finalise the deal. He is expected to rejoin the Socceroos training camp tomorrow in Sydney.

His new boss at Aalborg, Ludhiana Jakobsen, welcomed the arrival of the former Central Coast Mariners star who joined on a three year deal for an undisclosed transfer fee to Nuremburg.

"I am very satisfied with the solution which we found to our defense," he said. "Michael Beauchamp has experience at the highest international level, he has the right attitude and he has a good age.

"As a player, his force is primarily speed and strength, and we believe our defense with the addition of Beauchamp will be at least as strong as last season."

Beauchamp told the club's offocial webiste how much he was looking forward to joining the club.

"After a full season in Germany, I have been training and playing matches for Australia for the past three and half weeks, so I join Aalborg at the beginning of July," he said.

"I'm looking forward to my new challenge at Aalborg and the exciting challenges ahead in both the National League and the Champions League.

"It is an honour for me to sign with the Danish champions, and hopefully I will do me earn a place on the team."

But he admitted to not knowing too much about the club or the league he was soon to join.

He added: "There are some good guys and some good players, but otherwise, I don't know too much for Danish football.

"In my conversations with Ludhiana Jakobsen, I have had a very good impression of him, the team and club, and I am very happy to start training."

Beauchamp is becoming Danish

Bye, bye Michael!

Nrnberg - Defender Michael Beauchamp is leaving Nrnberg for Aalbord BK. Both teams keep silence about the amount of money Nrnberg receives for the 27 year old.

"Michael moves to Denmark", confirms Martin Bader, manager of 1. FCN on Tuesday; the Australian who was contracted til the end of season 08/09 is currently playing with the Socceroos for qualifying for the 2010 World Cup.

"Meggsy" came to the Valznerweiher in 2006 directly from his home country and could gain match time for Nrnberg in contrast to Dean Heffernan who joined Meggsy in 2006. Meggsy had 18 matches in 2006/2007 and 12 during last season.

Fortune against Cottbus, Misfortune in Berlin

His single goal in the Bundesliag which he scored on matchday 22 in 06/07 will be unforgotten as it was a real fight in which he used a failure of Cottbus' goalkeeper Piplica.

Injured at the final
Due to a injury he incurred during the last training before the final he missed the match against Stuttgart the next day (3:2 after over time).

Beauchamp moves to the new Danish champion: Aalborg Boldspilklub got champion with 8 points in front of FC Midtjylland.

Good luck in Denmark, Meggsy!

So, we have some new players at Nrnberg:

- Slovakian striker Mario Breska
- German defender Pascal Bieler who comes from Berlin
- German midfielder Juri Judt from Frth
- and Raphael Schfer will be back in our goal
- Pagenburg comes back form Munich

- Pinola stays for at least one more year; it depends on whether we relegate
- Mintal stays

Of course, some have left:
- Jan Koller to a club in Russia
- Meggsy to Aalborg
- Misimovic to Wolfsburg
- Nicky Adler has been gone
- Blazek goes back to Prague
- Galasek is gone aswell

and some are about to leave:
- Saenko
- Charisteas
- Vittek, if Gomez leaves Stuttgart he might join them
tbc...

Personally, I am happy that Schfer comes back. So we do have a good goalkepper next season :D

No disrespect, but I hope for Australia's sake that Spiro leaves. Id like him to be playing a higher level if he is also going to play for country

Its a shame Koller left. He is about 34, so was hoping he would stay and help you get back up

I understand you but I don't think that Spiro leaves. I personally think that he will get more match time than last season as it is not sure that Wolf will stay and Glauber is about to leave as well.
So we just have Abardonado, Spiro, (Wolf), (Bieler, Reinhardt) and a new one as central defenders.

Actually, I didn't want Koller to stay as he is, as you said quite old for a football player, and didn't show the motivation to help us - neither in the last season nor that he said that he will stay. So I am happy that he has left and hope that Charisteas will stay as I think that he is better (and younger) than Koller.

agree with happy on this

the second tier in german football is still a very strong competition and if he is getting good game time it will help his development

i have to say that spiro looks a better prospect than meggsy, if only because he's a little quicker so he's got a little more decision time available. both show the benefits of playing with a better club than any a-league club though when they take a simple touch and then quickly and easily find the feet of a midfielder to get play moving again.
