If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Where's Disco Nik going to go now??

Key Largo closed as part of $7m overhaul
BY VANESSA HANDLEY

KEY Largo nightclub has been closed as part of a $7 million refurbishment of Crowne Plaza Terrigal.

The club's final trading night was last Saturday, November 30. It will be replaced by a new bar, plans for which are currently being finalised.

Crowne Plaza's director of sales and marketing Iain Ganner said Key Largo was closed because it was not in keeping with the hotel's new image.

"We didn't get rid of Key Largo because it was affecting the hotel's rating," Mr Ganner said.

"The new bar will aim to attract those over the age of 25.

"We are sorry to see Key Largo go, but it's time to call it a night."

Mr Ganner said the hotel's upgrade is aimed at luring tourists from Sydney.

"The hotel has always been held in high esteem but the upgrade will aim to attract the Sydney market.

"This long-overdue and very exciting project will reinstate Crowne Plaza Terrigal as one of the top seaside hotels in Australia."

The hotel's 196 rooms will be refurbished floor by floor, and the corridors and lobby updated, from February 2009

apparently they have to get rid of Largo to obtain a 5 star rating for Crowne Plaza.

i'm sure he'll end up at Sirens. only across the road.

I'm thinking this needs a poll.

About time... good to see they are doing up the rooms because they are so outdated.... should make it a much nicer place to go...

and more pricier

Prices were WAY over the top at xmas time for such a shit hotel room, $500 per night 2 night minimum. Hopefully it wont drive the price up to much. The rooms would have to be pretty special to cost much more.

with this closure there is a serious lack of nightclubs on the coast

might be a market in there for a shrewd entrepreneur

After staying there on the cheap i would not pay that much just to listen to dance music and drunk people all night the windows aren't very sound proof and the decor was very old style they needed to refurbish yrs ago.

If i had the money i would put a strip club on the coast imagine the amount of business you could make. Its one thing that is definatly missing.

Largo = shithole (sorry to all those who loved it)

There is a big need for a club on the coast though

Crowne Plaza needs a refurb, I was there a few months back and couldn't believe how crappy the rooms look now.
