Treble Winners vs Ufukers

It's been going on for a lot longer than a few weeks

It's complacency, he's got a new missus, he's won 2 championships, a premiership and a continental trophy. He's complacent, he starts every game cos he's still got that 'aura' of being the 'brick wall of gosford'. He needs a reality check, no one is guaranteed a place in the first 11.

He was actually on his way back a few weeks with some decent performances, but then fell off a cliff.

Are you “in the know” to pin it on his missus and complacency?

With Sains out we didn’t have an option. Now we need to seriously look at giving him a spell.

Sure it's been mentioned around and l now have to agree that it's really looking more and more like Jacko coasted through last season on Monty's well built, already established solid team and once he's been in charge and having to make the decisions, things have gone downhill. Arnie to Moss deja vu

I like many others sat at games last year thinking how the hell are we going to win this game.
And sure enough Nizzy, Ballard supported by Tapp found a way to hassle and steal possession and get the ball into dangerous areas.

Now other than finally making the decision to move Nizzy up which is when we found our stride, Jacko’s way of playing or thought process is still a bit dumbfounding even with different formations.

Even Monty’s aggressive style which actually had a lot of long balls was often not ‘pretty’ or proper football by any means.
But when a Triantis and Kaltak long ball went up the players knew how the surround and position the opponents header to maximise percentage of receiving the second ball and hitting them within send one’s in the final third.

But Monty and Serge greatest power was finding the players to do the job and using them the right way.

We will also give Jacko time after what was achieved last year as was still amazing effort to keep those boys motivated over so many games and travel.
But there is still a distinct feeling in the air that is Jacko really letting these guys play football.
Giving them a chance to connect play from the back to the mids and then turn and pass through the backline.

I’m kind of tired of the Jacko and Monty comparisons at this point. The only similarities they have is their youth development philosophy. They’re completely different otherwise.

Monty was hard but fair, Jacko just seems fair. I was watching a press conference where he said he lets the boys run the analysis themselves lol can only imagine just how unproductive that was.

Monty also had probably the most free reign budget one of our managers has ever had, Jacko’s back to one of the most limited. We got a temu Tulio in Feijao and a costco cumdog in Edmondson. I f**king assure everyone, Jacko would love to punt atleast 6 players but can’t. And would have a list of quality he’d love to sign, but can’t.
Monty was able to punt any player at any moment and sign the exact players he wanted.

He was slightly less crap. I wouldn't say he was on his way back.

For me, the reason kaltak has been so poor this year is less about the players along side him and everything to do with the player who isn't behind him.

Feijao and Edmo both came in at the peak of Peil’s spending pal.

I don’t have anything to offer that hasn’t been said.

This is absolutely a team that has lost its way and I agree wholeheartedly that Jacko has lost the dressing room. This is a team devoid of unity, cohesion, motivation or belief.

My husband used this quote last year when our son’s team won their GF.. “it’s not the team with the best players that wins. It’s the players with the best team that wins.” Likewise, you can have a few great players on a team but if collectively the dynamic and the work rate, the unity and the team culture is shit, that team isn’t winning much.

We are sliding fast into the spoon days and when I say that, I’m not talking about the results I’m talking about the conflict and blame and turning on each other.

Meh. That’s all.

The refereeing was way too inconsistent.
It was like the referee discussed with Sydney at half time what he would let go
Definitely was the 12th man for Sydney
While I won't necessarily disagree with that. However, over the last two seasons that happened as well. The difference is how the team reacts. They need to forget they are the treble winners because a lot of them had very little to do with that - and a lot of players that did have a lot to do with it have gone.

They are now the underdogs and have to work harder at doing the little things right every time. There will be moments of brilliance and luck for us but if we are not doing the simple things right (both in decision making and execution) then we not have a happy season.

The season isn't over but the top 3 have really skipped away.
