ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I'm not sure Alou would have scored if he wasn't fouled and had got the ball.
Would have had a lot of work to do.
But the rule isn't denial of a definite goal.

It's denial of the opportunity to possibly score.

He would have been 50/50 to actually finish that (weaker foot, bouncing ball).

Based on his shooting efforts in previous games, you wouldn't guarantee that he scores from 6 yards in an open goal.

If it had happened in the box it would have been a pen. and a yellow card with the keeper staying on. We would have been ecstatic.
As it worked out the punishment to Sydney was more severe and we were disappointed nothing came from the free kick.
Which would be the worse offence and which would be the harsher punishment?
As I see it a foul outside the box led to a harsher punishment than that if the foul was committed inside the box.

He should have taken Costa off. Lolley works hard and can score a goal.

But that's the issue with paying massive cash for a has been - you feel pressured to keep them on the park to get some value out of it.

Having said that, the free kick on 3 minutes that hit the post and the pass up the channel with the outside of his left peg were glimpses of the quality he has as a player.
yep that's why he kept him on . but you have to factor in you probably need 15km in the legs .
your again gunna need because you're a man down.

I had the idle thought that I wonder if they will eventually tinker with GK sendoffs.
They're more significant than anything else because not only does the team have to play with their 2nd best GK but they also lose a player to sub the gk on.

So, gk being sent off is kind of like losing 1.5 players, as well as losing a sub. Much harsher than, say, if the sweeper gets sent

Idle thoughts.

. or maybe the 'keeper shouldn't be putting themselves in such a situation ... knowing the consequences?
