What about Bojic's goal. Defender was clearly not playing the ball, fell over trying to stop Bojic's run and defender gets the foul.

3 in the net.... one has to wonder why we seem to get the bad end of the stick all the time.

To be fair though, we lacked in defence tonight, and it was only through inept striking that we only let 2 in. We could have played better!

fraid to admit it, in the end we were outplayed!!!

classy first goal, unfortunately thommo didnt do his usual 1 on 1 choker on the second.

had them by the balls by half time despite the score, d macs first was an unlucky miss and that linesman should be firing squaded. shame to see matty s go off so early, never understood why
he always goes for mrja instead of petro, matty s and d mac are best around each other

we panicked in the second, resorted to the ol' long ball and it never worked
gumprecht had a mad chance to set up a brilliant goal, but did a sydney and blew it over the cross bar, shame really

finally: Am so damn sick of these diving imports my list keeps growing
cristiano &  ney f***iano spring to mind, not to mention archies lame attempt (which worked)
while on our attack
Yup disappointing is the word

I disagree that we didnt play well. I think a draw would have been the fairest result.
Yep, we had the best of the first half and the draw as it should have been would have been fair.
yet another crap decision ruins the day

P.S Mrdja is shit now and y take main man simon 4 him so early?

Way to harsh a call showed some great touches .

Four things coming out of the game for me.

1) Shit pitch would never have allowed the hire out of the Dome if it was a AFL match and ruin a large part of the pitch shows how far we have come  .......... not ! !

2) Muskie's elbow into Matty neck ....... how this guy is allowed on a football field is beyond me ... a toe rag if ever there was one.

3) How when Matty left our game fell away ...... not that Mrdja  played poor we just lost our way forward without Matty's energy up front making runs.

4) Another very / very basic error by an official cost a team ........ every team has there tale of woe from poor decisions so I understand it's part of the game ..... but how basic and poor are they IMO FFA need to invest in sending some of our top young refs overseas for training ... or importing some refs from Europe as it is so frustrating when such simple erros occur .....

shame HAL refs aren't subject to a post match review and a subsequent game ban or temp demotion for any major bad calls swaying the outcome of the game.

So the Mariners are denied a second goal by an offside only the linesman will ever see, then Archie scores from a BLATANT offside. WTF? The worst thing is, nothing will become of this because the officials are a protected species.  :redcard:

They were both on side - unfortunately for us only 1 of them counted!

That flag seemed to put us right off our game as we didn't really create anything after that! :(

You may have the wood on Perth, but Perth have been pretty good at home this season. Tread carefully.

Yep ripped off by a harsh decision, but we have had them before and we'll get them again.
I've woken up this morning feeling tormented by last night's result and once again unacceptably poor refereeing that has cost us dearly.

If the FFA wants to know why crowds are down it can start with looking at the standard of refereeing in this country.

Morning all,

We were outplayed for large periods of the game last night. Mile looked stuffed, and we got caught out at the back several times. Danny made a GREAT save off Archie in the first half. I liked how Hutch's free kick confused them all, hope that this free kick goes in the memory bank.

Yes, we had a legal goal disallowed, but I believe that Archie's goal was clearly onside.

We did well to keep them to 2-1. Muscat has still got it, and I am more impressed each time I watch Rodrigo Vargas. Allsopp is a total enigma, nice finish Tommy P.

Melbourne will host the Grand Final, hopefully against us. Note to Docklands management, if you prepare a pitch like THAT for the GF, we will switch the game to the SFS.

Good to see that Harper got stuck into Docklands for the state of the surface. He has been consistent on this issue, he ripped into the Lang Park staff last year, we have quite fairly copped a spray regarding BTCCS, and the statement that the AFL would not have put up with last night's situation is SPOT ON. One thing, the AFL actually runs Docklands, just a minor point.

When people overseas see this game, they will LAUGH at us. How embarrassing for Victory, I feel very sorry for them.

Onto MES. We will need 3 points. Get well, Matt.

Why the f**k did we resort to the long ball when behind. I took adrian out of the game completely. No point hacking on Mrdja, Simon did f**k all as well (don't remember him actually having a shot) and Melbourne defended the long ball perfectly, it was so boring to watch after a great 55 or so minutes of football.

Boogs had a blinder and kept us in the game, Bojic and Macca were solid too in a very ordinary performance

Because I only saw the game in my mind's eye listening to the coastfm call and saw the goal replays later, to those who watched it is this fair (report from the official A-League site)?:

...the two top teams went head-to-head in a battle of contrasting styles.

While the Victory relied on their trademark passing game, the visitors attempted to batter the home side's defence into submission with a series of long balls into the box...

Even they seem to have us stereotyped, contrasting with Melbourne's beautiful game - and basically celebrate their come from behind win.

No mention of McAllister's incorrectly disallowed goal which would have forced them to come from behind again. Or not...

Can't have the official website showing a match official f**ked up. ;)
