Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The Socceroos thread.

I cannot think of a worse performance by the Socceroos. Utter rubbish. Terrible ball control. Stupid tackles. Shocking attempts in attack. Wayward passing that make Under5s look good. Zero teamwork.

Virtuallly zero genuine creativity in that starting central midfield because Arnie was playing defensively in our opening qualifier at home jeez.

At least have a go maaaaate.
That was Arnie's big .mistake. but really there was something more wrong. Behich is gone. Boyle hasn't come back from his ACL. Duke and Yengi both should have scored. Needless yellow by kye and Harry and a silly red from Yengi. A bit unlucky to concede the own goal but that is what we deserved for the way we were ser up AND for the poor execution. As much as that was an Arnold failure it was also a player failure.

Arnold’s hurrendous style has adapted to playing teams with greater ability and holding out teams like Bahrain did to us tonight.

He has entrenched himself into ‘safe’ football to try and keep his job and reputation.

But like tonight it’s not always going to grind out results when your playing a team that’s doing it better than you.

The crossing was almost pointless unless inch perfect as in most games where the shop is shut up, so he really did need to maybe go hard at the start and catch them off guard.

Maybe with a front 3 of Goodwin, Taggart and Irunkunda.
And Nizzy tip toe feeding them with lay off’s.

Well that was a fun and excitement filled night.Slow ball movement, terrible passing, poor first touch by professional players, strange midfield setup, lack of finishing and then a late own goal.I could not even name one player whom I could call our MOTM.

If we lose in Indonesia this is going to be a difficult qualifying process.

Even Goodwin was poor last night.

Football is vertical now, Arnolds dire football is easily countered as it allows the other side to get set. When Bahrain got the ball they looked to get forward, with pace.
The useless scottish clogger at CB who is dropping down the leagues got probably more touches than anyone else. Why play your 2nd best CB talent (behind Triantis) at RB, that is such an "I dont trust young players" pick from Arnold.
Without Farrell marking him Nestory, got the ball and looked to run forward, quickly. Thats modern football.
Montyball if you like.
I also notice that fresh from causing our academy to implode, that Ratboy is doing the same to the national team - another job for the boys.

I hope more people have more respect that Faghani lets the game flow.
He doesnt let the game flow he just doesnt like to use his whistle unless someone hurts his feelings by asking him to do his job. Absurd to not recognize there's a massive middle ground between not being conned into this west afc bs and letting teams kick the shit out of each other.

On the upside, Saudi dropped points to Indonesia.
Bodes well for us playing Indonesia in a few days.

The useless scottish clogger at CB
Was a bit sketchy all night even before the own goal.

Overall I think the sentiment on reddit covered it pretty well. We played 3 CBs and 3 DMs against a team we knew we would need to take the game to. This wasnt a Japan game where we could hang back and grind it out - we needed to be on the front foot.

We lacked creativity and urgency and left potential game changers on the bench. When we did finally make a sub we took off Goodwin who was our best outlet. Well before the red it was clear we needed a game changer but persisted with the idea eventually it would drop in for us. Nizzy in for Metcalfe at half time would have changed up that midfield massively. Boyle should have never come back out of the sheds.
