but is still being signed as a marquee player....which is ridiculous. He's not worth being a marquee player.
agreed, the golden boot winner, johnny warren medalist and key figure in newcastle's side is not worth being a marquee player
His winning the JWM is disgraceful and puts the award to shame IMO. How he could possibly have been considered for the award is beyond me. He has a bad attitude on the field, and off, has a bad temper and is easily riled up and lashes out, as evidenced against the Nix. He is not in the same league as previous winners.
p.s how often do you hang out with him to know he has a bad attitude off the field?

from all reports Joel is well liked off the field and generally viewed as being polite and friendly

on the other hand his brother is completely the opposite

Totally agreed Keensy that he was the standout when u score at will like he did, ur obviously doin somethin right, however the JW medal was introduced for a best and fairest, and even though he didnt get sent off for the infamous "sack wack" replays should of told the ffa or ever chooses the medalist that he shouldnt of got it!!

As I mentioned in the Round 12 Games Thread, moments earlier c**t had a 50/50 decision go against him.

A defender from Wellington appeared to charge in at c**t as they both jumped for a header.

You'll notice in the incident that c**t got red carded for, there were 2 Wellington backs in close proximity to him and there had just been a tackle effected.
What's the bet c**t lost his temper and was in close proximity to the original defender who he lost a challenge to, and then, after being dispossessed, lashes out (probably at the wrong defender). You can see it in his eyes in a front on replay that c**t had an evil look in his eyes.

The stupid thing about c**t's send off is that he would have been aware that officials were watching for such a blow up.

Milligan's was down outright dangerous. Straight red, do not pass go.

Griifiths A. was quite sullen when he got called back by Breeze to get his Yellow properly and the look on his face as Breeze gave him some verbal advice about the challenge he had made, said a lot about Griffiths A.'s personality.

So are you saying that last season he wasnt a clear standout?? If so i think you are being extremely biased and did not watch enough games last year wearing nuetral coloured glasses.

As mentioned the JWM is combination of best player, and best and fairest. He did not deserve the JWM purely and simply for his attack on the AR. I am firmly of the belief that any physical attack on a Ref, or an AR should immediately disqualify that player from any representative football for the season and any sort of award beyond the Golden Boot. As bad as some of the decisions they make are, they should be protected and looked after and that sort of action should not be tolerated under any circumstances. He has a lot of talent, but until he learns to control his temper and stop being a whiny little b*tch he deserves nothing and I hope he doesn't get picked for the Soceroos until he can show he is a genuine team player. His whinging about not being selected as the Jets captain shows he is to immature and not ready for the role as it is.

How much time have you spent with him to know his attitude off the field is a good one? All the reports I've read have him pegged as a bad apple.

whether you like it or not the rules state that the incident was dealt with on the pitch and it was a yellow card offence. Im happy with him as JWM as he was head and shoulders above any other player last season

Well if you believed every report you read, that would mean football in this country is in bad shape and dying etc etc.

It easialy could have been 9 on 9 in that game, I think Dodd is lucky he didnt get sent off for his attempted kick out at Griffiths on his way to the ground, then who ever challenged Elrich when he got that penalty was lucky not to go for Denying ovbious goal scoring oppunity.

But how Griffith and milligan only got 2 weeks each for those challenged is beside me, Milligans was a filthy filthy 2 footed challenge, i love the comments by the newcastle fans on the 442 website how they reakon he was hard done by cause he got the ball, u cant jump in 2 footed at a player and get away with it espically with breeze reffing. And since when has kicking and opponent been only 2 weeks

Totally agree. Dodd should have been marched as well. Both were as bad as each other.

Milligan's two footed challenge through the air was a disgrace. Doen't matter a jot whether he got the ball or not, that sort of tackle is very, very dangerous and can snap ankles and legs. It was far, far worse than sackwacker's and the fact he only got two weeks is disgusting.

To think both got the same punishment is just plain wrong. Two weeks for sack man is about right. Milligan should be out for the season and then some.

ABSOLUTELY...POSITIVELY...one of my bug bears is studs up tackling and the shit awful suspensions......Milligan shoulda got at least 5-6 weeks due to no damage...BUT the mongrel Talay should still be out wondering what to do on weekends and Craig Moore should just now be resuming training after he put Andre on the bench...I hate studs up tackling...my tibia still itche's when I think of east lismore v Ballina

I remember when Simon Bell was suspended for manhandling Breeze. The Glory fans reckoned that he should have been given a medal rather than copping a suspension.

Is the week almost over... feels weird loving Matthew Breeze.

Did anyone read the article "Joel: I'm my own worst enemy" at Daily Telegraph online?

Favorite paragraph:

"Not only that, it's given other teams' supporters and players extra motivation to say a few things and they've every right to. It'll just make things worse when we play away and it's up to me to be smart and professional enough to block it out."
