ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

It's a pity the Coast doesn't have a Pig & Whistle type bar where you always know they'll have the game on. The one up in Brisbane on Elizabeth St was a favorite haunt of mine back in the day...

LOVE that place - the one in Queen St. Mall is total and utter win as well.

I haven't been to Cheers (aside from the Old Firm match last month) but The Pig & Whistle is the best place to go for sure. Last year a bunch of Liverpool fans (myself included) got kicked out of Star City right near the end of the OT demolition for doing stuff that would barely turn a head during the same fixture at the P&W. Funnier still was that a ManUre fan friend of mine got kicked out as well just for association- despite my protests to the security guards that he was definitely not celebrating like the rest of us!

Melbourne Victory set to challenge striker Nik Mrdja's two-match ban

February 23, 2010 Melbourne Victory are to appeal against Nik Mrdja's suspension in a bid to have the striker available for the remainder of the A-League finals.

Mrdja was hit with a two-game ban for elbowing Sydney FC's Shannon Cole in the head during the first leg of the major semi-final, at Etihad Stadium last Thursday night.

The league's match review panel imposed a minimum ban on Mrdja for violent conduct.

If his suspension is upheld, Mrdja will miss the second leg of the major semi-final, in Sydney on March 7, and if the Victory beat Sydney FC over the two-legged tie, the grand final on March 20.

A spokesman for the Victory said the club would not comment on what grounds the club would appeal.

Victory are desperately short of strikers at the moment, with Archie Thompson and Robbie Kruse both injured.

Would be somewhat funny if they extend the ban for a frivolous appeal and he misses the first game or two for you guys next season because of it.......  ;)
