Socceroos v Scotland

Awful stuff. Our direst performance in a good while.

We have several key problems. And while our CB's had a torrid time, to be fair, the reason they were often so disorganised and under so much pressure was largely because we made so many unforced errors and couldn't hold the ball in the middle of the park. They murdered us in midfield.

Valeri and Jedi were horrible. And two DM's is just too negative anyway.

Absurd Carney is still getting selected.

Wilkshire at RB. This is just f**king lunacy. Just because he can cross, does not mean he's suited to RM.
Holger has taken one of our strongest players in his position at RB. And simultaneously weakened the RM and RB.
Driving me insane.

I'm concerned.

Forum Phoenix I agree, but to be fair we have seen enough of Lucas and sasa in recent times to know they hopeless.
Lucas has passed his best and Sasa is just an average A-League defender and that's being nice.

Rhys Williams, Ryan McGowan, Luke DeVere are all better players than Lucas, sasa, North and Špiranovic

We even have Good coming through the ranks, if we act now we can have a young and solid defense heading into the next world cup.

No way Lucas will be removed before the WC. For better or worse, he will retire after it.

personally I'd like to see,

Wilkshire, Neil, Williams, Davidson, lining up at the back. Devere still needs more time I think. But I'd be interested in seeing McGowan also.

Re looking after the future. Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately I agree with the recent fox commentary, that this is a problem with international coaches. Forward thinking is not in their brief or short term interests.

It's a problem.

good back line, I would like to see

Luke Wilkshire, Ryan McGowan/ Luke DeVere, Rhys Williams, Jason Davidson

Im just hoping Neill decides his body can't handle the middle east and decides to retire, because if we go through with Neil 36 & Ognenovski 35, who are already useless we are going to leak lots of goals.

And the fact that Holger Osieck thinking having two defending mids on at the same time, Carl Valeri & Mile Jedinak is going to create chances amazes me :(

We really need Mark Bresciano to make the next world cup and if Brett Emerton can stay fit I would take him.

Players that should not be considered even on the bench are
Matthew Špiranović
Mark Milligan
Jade North
Harry Kewell
Joshua Kennedy
David Carney
Saša Ognenovski
Neil Kilkenny
Mile Jedinak
Lucas Neill

That's just a list from recent matches.

And yes I know im going to cop it for putting Kennedy on that list but I don't want to spend all game flying no good crosses across to Kennedy and that's about the only reason you would pick him.

Mmmmm...

Matthew Špiranović - agreed
Mark Milligan - agreed
Jade North - agreed
Harry Kewell - depends on what he does between now and then. Not looking good - but he showed good form in Asia and a few matches besides.
Joshua Kennedy - disagree on bringing him, but despise the lump it to kennedy tactics also.
David Carney - agreed
Saša Ognenovski - too old agreed
Neil Kilkenny - I haven't been impressed and think we can do better - Hoping even Musti by 2014, maybe Herd...
Mile Jedinak - I think Mile's does much better when he's the sole DM, distribution is not his strength, and he;s put under pressure when valeri's on, valeri is a pussy when it comes to playing teh ball and often won;t take responsibility. he should be on your list.
Lucas Neill - spoken on him already.

If were not crossing it to Joshua Kennedy in my opinion he is useless, Mcdonald should be picked before him.

I agree with your point about Mile Jedinak, when I was writing that list i was unsure about Valeri, I have seen him play terrible and I have seen games were he was good. I guess he should probably be on the list though.

I really think our world cup team will be

--------------------------Mark Schwarzer

Luke Wilkshire ------- Lucas Neil ------- Rhys Williams ------ David Carney

Emerton -------------- Mark Bresciano --- Carl Valeri ---------- Brett Holman

----------------Joshua Kennedy ------- Harry Kewell

Just have this bad feeling

McDonald????

Why would you pick a striker who can't score goals????

Mile is a good DM.

Kewell is still classier than most of the squad. If fit I'd take him.

We have no choice but to pick Kennedy.

Mcdonald offers more than one thing, he is creative player and puts in 100%, harry is creative but he isn't good enough to make his ideas pay off.

We have no choice than to pick Kennedy ?

Tim Cahill, Nikita Rukavytsya, Scott McDonald, Robbie Kruse and Brett Holman are all better choices.

Mcdonald would perform if he was played upfront with a half decent player.

Harry didn't even standout in the A-League.

Mile has his moments but he is not our best DM and we don't play with a DM anyway.

McDonald hasn't perfumed ever, in any formation in a Socceroo jersey.........ever.

Harry did occasionally stand out and he played under the worst manager in the history of the HAL. Who would I want to get the ball on the edge of the box when we needed a winner....McDonald or Kewell? ....... It ain't McDonald!!!!

Worst manager ?
So he played under Ian Ferguson or Branko Čulina ?

I see you only judge Mcdonald on goals, I guess all that work he puts in on and off the ball means nothing ?

If Kewell was in the box when we needed a winner he would get tackled, his best is long gown that's why no club has picked him up.

Marvin,

What are you on?

Ferguson is a great young manager , who will get better and better.

Perth would have won the toilet seat last season but for some of the worst reffing in the history of the HAL (and it's a very shabby history).

Culina is a knob but he knows his Football. Mehmet was simply a disgrace to MV.

Of course I judge a striker by his goals!!.....it he can't score then he should be a middie.

Personally I think McDonald looks half decent but he couldn't score in a brothel at international level....so sadly he should be taking someone else's jersey that can.
