So the team has been announced,

Mark Bresciano, Alex Brosque, David Carney, Jason Davidson, Adam Federici, Chris Herd, Brett Holman, Mile Jedinak, Neil Kilkenny, Robbie Kruse, Mitch Langerak, Scott McDonald, Ryan McGowan, Lucas Neill, Sasa Ognenovski, Mark Schwarzer, Archie Thompson, Carl Valeri, Luke Wilkshire, Rhys Williams.

It worries me to see Killkenny, Sasa and Lucas in the team, Sasa and Killkenny are just useless and it's time for Lucas to retire from international football or give up the captaincy.

I would like to see

Adam Federici

Chris Herd -------- Rhys Williams ------- Ryan McGowan ------ Jason Davidson

Luke Wilkshire -----Carl Valeri --------- Mark Bresciano ----- Brett Holman

------------------Scott McDonald ---------- Robbie Kruse

OR

-----------------------------Adam Federici

Chris Herd -------- Rhys Williams ------- Ryan McGowan ------ Jason Davidson

Luke Wilkshire -----Carl Valeri --------- Scott McDonald ----- Mark Bresciano

--------------------------Brett Holman ---------- Robbie Kruse

Mcdonald has the quality about him to pick out his players, playing him in a attacking role with valeri defending could actually work.

Archie Thompson plays his best football behind the strikers imo, whenever I see him drop back to help the midfield he suddenly becomes a team player and his ability is really shown.

Little disappointed Luke DeVere, Matt McKay or James Troisi didn't make the team.

-----------------------------Adam Federici

Luke Wilkshire----- Rhys Williams -------Lucas Neill ------ Jason Davidson

Robbie Kruse ------Chris Herd------Mark Bresciano------------Brett Holman

--------------------------------Alex Brosque----------------------------

---------------------Scott McDonald --------------------

It includes younger guys like Williams, Davidson and Herd. It gives Adam more NT time with Lucas and Luke who are likely to still be around in 2014. It has some pace on the flanks and it gives Macca another go.

Bresc, Holman, Brosque and Kruse are intelligent enough to interchange if need be and can all provide reasonably good quality delivery.

Kruse did play most of his time on the wing last season, I don't see any problem with that.

Chris herd has a bad passing game and until he does something about that I don't see him in the midfield especially in in the middle.

We are going to suffer big time if Lucas Neill makes it to the next world cup.

I have never been able to rate Alex Brosque.

It was been proven in the past you can't play Scott McDonald as Mark Viduka.

this.

Luke DeVere has got to be close, having a great season and has scored more goals from defence than most of the strikers in the squad

- If you want you can swap Wilkshire and Herd. Luke played well in the centre of midfield with Jedi agaonst Ireland.

- Lucas will be at the next World Cup as will Schwarzer (barring injury). The only question is whether they will be first XI players.

- Holger has always rated Brosque and he has done everything asked of him since being recalled by Holger. He seems to have improved markedly since going OS.

- Macca was being played as one of two strikers. He really is a goal box poacher. I teamed him with Brosque but would expect Bresc, Holman and Kruse to also swap in for Brosque at times or join Macca and Brosque up front. Very different to the target man system that we played with Viduka.

Josh Kennedy and Jade North are injured.

Shane Lowry, Nikita Rukavystya, Mathew Leckie and Tommy Oar are only just getting over injuries.

The K-league doesn't stop for international breaks, so Luke DeVere and Matt McKay have club matches.

James Troisi has only just joined Atalanta so he probably wasn't considered

Ruka is recovering from injury
Lecki has just joined a new club so he would not be considered
Troisi just joined a new club
Spira is just hopeless

Fark .. getting killed by Scotland... the centre backs ... all three goals the first right full back does not go to his man... second goal left back own goal... third goal strolls past our central defence..

can not think of three passes of any worth all night...

That was mainly the coaches first team choice, why are some of these guys even considered !

Lucas was rubbish and unfit
Ognenovski was just hopeless
It was clear Carney has not been getting much time time.
Brosqe, what can I say about Brosqe
Mile Jedinak should not have got any game time.

Bresciano was probably our best player, his passing game kept the team together.
Mcdonald didn't have a chance to do anything, his passing game was good though
Holman put in a good performance until he was injured
Kruse put in a solid performance

Got to feel sorry for Jason Davidson, he should have not put it into his own net but he should not have been left in that situation, what's the bet Holger Osieck decides he is not good enough.

Chucking on Ryan Mcgowan late in the game, he should have been on before half time because Lucas and Ognenovski were doing nothing.

Team needs some serious changes.

And than you have Lucas Neill saying he is disappointed with the team but he is not concerned with the defenders.
Maybe if he wasn't blinded by money he would see the problem.

That was scary...Scotland are ordinary but they looked far classier than Australia.

Defensively we were dodgy to say the least.

A very worrying game!!!!

Agreed,
I hate how people say guus hiddink had a golden generation and that's why he was such a good manager for Australia, when in fact he was good because he was prepared to change his game plan during the match and give young players a chance.

Holger Osieck is just using the system Guus put into place, he doesn't understand the players are now 6 years older !

We need a manager like Guus who is not afraid to try new things.
