Socceroos Squad for 2010

Pim is looking at doubling up on each position. Carle is not competing against Bresciano or Emerton who will be primarily on the right.

Carle will be the backup for Timmy at CAM

        Schwarzer/Federici/Pektovic

Emerton/Wilkshire Neill/North Moore/Coyne Chipperfield/Carney

          Grella/Jedinak Culina/Valeri

       Cahill/Carle

Bresciano/Sterjovski Kewell/McDonald

       Viduka/Kennedy

If you are looking for width Sterj and Kewell would be first choice in those positions. More often than not we will play slightly unbalanced with Kewell stretching on one wing and Bresc cutting in on the right.

  

if all fit that would be the most likely squad

however i suspect that garcia will be the double up for cahill, not carle

and perhaps djite for viduka if he doesnt gurantee himself

Petkovic is the Australian Number 2 keeper and has been on the bench for all World Cup qualifiers so surely he will be going to the World Cup. Jones and Federici will be fighting it out for the bench warming job.
The way I chose my squad was going through the qualification process and looking at line ups that Pim has used and then I added Brett Emerton.
Craig Moore will go and the only reason he did not play in these last 3 matches was due to the fact the A-League finished in Feb and he hasnt played since. Craig has already stated he will go on loan for 3 months after the A-League season. Adelaide or Melbourne would do well to pick him up.
Beauchamp is out of favour and not playing regular football and Coyne has been preferred.
North has been in all of Pim's squads.
Garcia would be the only option to add to the squad and for mine that would be at the expense of Jedinak. But Jedinak has been part of nearly all of Pim's squad whilst Garcia has not.
There is no way Nick Carle will go to the World Cup in front of Holman. Brett has featured in all of Pim's squads and even though a lot of people dont like him as a player Pim does and he is the one that matters. Holman is a great squad player and will add impact off bench.

my mistake on petkovic...i didnt pay much attention to bench- didnt realise he has been there recently (dw, soccernet says he was unused sub in last 3 weeks )
I dont know if loans are allowed between A-league clubs...?
too many defenders still- even for PIM
Didnt argue Holamn would get picked over Carle...just said that I agreed (sadly) (but carle, garcia, troisi, marinermick, you, me, Graham Arnold, Farina, should all get call head of holman )

It was you own squad but to Pims 4-5-1 formation.

So I asked using Pim's formation of 4-5-1 .. and that he wants a back up for each player ... what is your squad... hope that clears it up.
