I am pleased about wat he has done to help novocastrian football but to lose 3 players because he wouldnt use service agreements is not good and I hate him for that.

yet why has covic played vs singapore and been 2nd keeper in 2/2 world cup qualifier matches?

As I said "and if Covic seriously want a shot at making the next world cup, he should bugger off to". Its a long time before the world cup, he wont be second choice by then. There is no way we will take 2 keepers as 1st and 2nd choice both over 35 years of age, whats the point, to many better young keepers coming thru. 1 injury and he will never make a socceroos squad again

If he wants a SERIOUS chance, he needs to be playing 1st choice at a better level than the a-league

Mariners supporters..............this may be a bit extreme.............but in fairness to our northern neighbours...........they will need to field a team next year.......

So here is my suggestion Mariners supporters have a some play off rounds, and the best could be sent to the Scum on loan to help them get through next year.

Why send the best of us? send the worst! I don't think anyone here would pull on that shirt.

The club up North was talking about signing Italians so the sack wackers tactics will still be around next year even if he ain't.

Dru only being fair ..imagine if we sent them ........Striker 9........we need to give them some hope.

I'm sorry I would be hoping that no matter who we sent they would be doing their absolute best to bring the team down from the inside!  :pirate:

Possibly send someone like Eggy, looks like a good prospect but first training manages to take out both Covic and Kennedy as well as anyone else resembling talent.

Maybe ..........some of those ........Zidane.........kisses.......... would help speed things along.

Mariners best ..............at training with the scum............remember Sparta...... connect the link 10 sec only.

If the following is true could be an interesting midfielder the scum have with Holland, Sung & Kaz Patafta

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/austr...-pitch-109477/

Its not a done deal yet but talk is rife that Kaz Patafta will be heading to A-League champion Newcastle Jets that is if the Japanese dont get to him first.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who is currently on loan at Melbourne from Portuguese giants Benfica, has had limited opportunities to impress under Ernie Merrick but that wont be the case if golden coach Gary Van Egmond has anything to do with it.

Seems Van Egmond is super keen to sign Patafta, who has admitted that there is no other club hed rather play for in the A-league than the Jets.

Sydney FC outcast Ruben Zadkovich is close to making the move up the coast to EnergyAustralia Stadium while former Australian youth international defender Adrian Madaschi and AIS striker Jason Naidovski are also in Van Egmond's sights.

He met Con and had second thoughts. Really the jokes on Crystal Palace though

If I were a scummer I'd be well happy hearing he wasn't coming to my team.

Sounds like Patafta could be on his way to Newy thou, decent young player IMO and could be brilliant for them!

yeah but how many attacking mids do they want

Holland can go DM CM or AM plus also a back up striker if needed, Song IMO looked average in the finals but with more time in Oz and getting know the teams style better etc he could become an asset I guess, and Patafta would provide the spark in the centre......all young too

People are quick to write off Newcastle but I have no doubt they will be challenging for a top 4 finish, may not make it next time but will be within a few points if they don't.

If they lose North and the Griffiths brothers then it could be very different thou, but at this stage they are all contracted there for V4

looks like Ljubo could be going there as well

http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/73423,ljub-say-hello-i-say-goodbye.aspx

Ljub Say Hello, I Say Goodbye?

EXCLUSIVE: Ljubo Milicevic would be a fantastic signing according to Newcastle Jets skipper Jade North but the Socceroos defender has no intention of hanging around for a Hunter reunion.
While there are strong whispers the former Melbourne Victory man is being chased by Jets, North, who played with Milicevic at the AIS and for the national Under 20s, has reiterated his desire to quit EnergyAustralia Stadium, whoever the signings during the off-season.

North was a big hit for Pim Verbeeks green and gold outfit as Australia secured a precious World Cup point in China last month and upon arriving home announced that it was time for him to seek an overseas challenge.

The dust may have settled on the China clash somewhat but North remains determined to pursue a fresh opportunity.

Speaking to au.fourfourtwo.com today, North said: Ive spoken to Gary (van Egmond) since coming back to Australia. He knows my feelings but then the club has known my ambitions ever since I joined.

You have to take opportunities when they are presented to you in football. Who knows, this might never come round again for me? This might not happen for me a year from now. You just dont know.

I do have another year on my contract but Con (Constantine) has said he would not stand in the way of players looking to progress.

Although he wouldnt be drawn on specifics, North admits there is interest from other clubs and he has two ideal destinations.

He said: Playing in France or Holland really appeals to me.

"Obviously Ive already learned a lot from working with Pim (the Dutch influence) but then I think the French league is a quality competition as well, a very technical league.

"But well see. Its just a question of looking at things day to day.

As North takes a short break to recharge the batteries before a hectic period of Socceroo camps and World Cup qualifiers, his current club is busy trying to bolster depleted stocks.

Milicevic is on the radar but a deal for former Sydney FC man Ruben Zadkovich looks close to collapse with the player reportedly bound for English Championship club Crystal Palace.

And could it be that North sees the former Socceroo, who had an injury-plagued and controversial spell at Melbourne, as a potential successor?

North said: It would be fantastic if the club could sign Ljubo. I played with him at the AIS and also the Under 20s. He has great experience and is a great leader.

Hard to know whether that would be a good signing or poor 1, it's certainly risky.  He has the potential but does he have the heart?

Because Vukovic wasn't available ;) (except for the first one and that was before Pim really hada great look at Vukovic)
