ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Any of those three would be funny:
1 - Kossie arse-f$#cked the Newcastle Breakers when he coached there and people in Newcastle have long memories. Especially as he shafted a number of local boys in his time.
2 - Branko is just a boob and the A-league has passed his coaching abilities. Be nice to see him coach against his son though.
3 - Well, the sentiment against arnold-out would mean many in Newcastle would hate him. Be sensational to chant "arnold out" at both a-league and national games though.

if it is Branko then just lol and maybe short term

I'm going to stick with Branko to confirm their wooden spoon status for V5.

At this rate I can see at least 3 sides worse that us (Scum, N Qld & Sheepshaggers) - 6th is looking very doable isnt it :)

Oh dear, GVE must have had enough and took a good offer while it was still there. Does anyone blame him for jumping? I don't!

Branko for short term til Con can con some other poor sucker, er, I mean coach, into the job.

Surely Con isn't THAT stupid to hire either Kosmina or Arnold. Or maybe he is  - as he let GVE slip by... ::)

What with a slapped together squad, a temp. coach and a newbie to take over from Branko maybe, and people like Ljubo going off in the papers every second week, the Jets will look like real amateurs this season. Prime contenders for the wooden spoon, I reckon.

What with the previous stories of Super not being paid and Con's over bearing personality etc., you wonder how long it is going to take before the FFA stops for a second and realises the franchise is actually floundering from one disaster to the next.

GARY Van Egmond is leaving Newcastle Jets to take the job of head coach at the AIS football program and for the national U/17s.
It's understood he is on a four year deal worth $200,000 per year.

Van Egmond had also reportedly been interviewed for one of the western Sydney bids but has opted for a job with the national set up.

Van Egmond was unavailable for comment but it's understood he will announce it on Monday and exits teh A-League club immediately.

Jets technical director Branko Culina is expected to take over the side in the short term at least.

Van Egmond took charge of the Jets eight weeks into season two after Nick Theodorakopoulos's disastrous run of defeats.

Dutchy turned the team around immediately and enjoyed a long unbeaten run which took the club from the bottom to the finals. The following season he took the club into the grand final and its first Championship.

He leaves after a relatively successful run in the ACL - despite a cobbled together squad  - although that was soured by last week's 6-0 drubbing in Pohang against the Steelers.

Is anybody that surprised? Given that poor management made conditions impossible for anybody up there?

No doubt, he did very well to transform what had been a rabble into contenders in V2 and played some excellent football on the way, but then lost Carle and Rodriguez. He really lucked out to win the title in V3, which has been described before, but in V4 that luck just ran out.

His approach has been inflexible and man-management appalling, as summed up by the Jesse Pinto incident in Adelaide.

Amazing how he was lauded as some kind of marvel after winning the Grand Final, and now his star has fallen dramatically.
