ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

This guy on another forum who is a scout, insists it's the club's fault and insinuates Monty handled it poorly. His mail is Oli asked for a release to join WSW in the last window, club said no and Monty's decided not to play him cause he's going to leave. Suggests it's poor from Monty because he still plays Miller despite him being due to leave.

. if that is/was/could be the case ... i don't have a problem with it

. it is one thing to sign for another club for when your contract expires (Miller) ... but it is a whole different thing to ask for a release, mid-season, while still under contract - and the captain

. anybody that knows Monty and his club career (including Oli) cannot be surprised if that was his stance

I would believe he’s been told that but don’t believe it’s true, or perhaps accurate is a better term.

Asking for a move indicates something is wrong, but if you do ask you have to accept the answer might be no. Now what’s more likely the manager cracking it or the player who had their request denied getting the sads and having a sook? Do we really believe Monty wouldn’t have him on the bench at all or use him to rest his preferred players just because Oli asked for a move? At minimum there’s a lot more to the story.
Agreed. Also does not fit with Oli still attending most matches (even to sit in the stands) and training. We saw Oli a few weeks back training with the team, my youngest was at Mariners Camp.. he happily came over with the guys, signing stuff and talking to the kids.
Didn’t seem like a Mexican standoff situation .. ?‍♀️

Oli has also been training with squad regularly despite not playing matches.

Moresche has also done his ACL so I'd imagine it's unlikely he'll play for Mariners again.

Wot? You need to backup statements like that with some context. How do you know this? He's contracted for another year, you're saying he'll never play for us again....
Sorry, meant this season. Although an ACL will put him out for possibly 8-12mths I'd imagine so it would have to put his future with us in doubt with his second season almost entirely on the sidelines.

So, I found a football discussion panel show on 10play (you all probably seen it already) and between Milligan, McBreen and the gormless twat hosting , they, in a 44 min show on the semi finals, managed nearly 33 minutes on Melbourne city …absolutely f**king horrendous !….and quite possibly a goddamn disgrace …but I should know better by now huh ?, the way D-Mac was talking you’d think we sacked him before we beat WSW in the GF

It's all set up for a City v Victory GF Recky. If we cannot make it I hope one of the other three can just to stop it from happening. Reds and us seem to be the only real possibilities but then look how the winners on the weekend are backing up mid week and then travel again next weekend. Whilst it's a home and away leg those that play this weekend are at a disadvantage especially with possible injuries.

That is a huge advantage. The reasons why are reasonable with their backs against the wall time wise but it doesnt diminish the benefit it gives City & Victory. If WU wins Victory wont even need to leave the state and their 'away' game will be like a home game.

I'm not going as far as suggesting manipulating the outcome via on field decisions but I'm sure the APL would be quietly very happy with a sold out Melbourne Derby GF at AAMI. At minimum Evans might need a lesson in subtlety

I'm sure Monty could have buried the hatchet but he decided that Ollie had crossed the line and he has been stoic and steadfast about it. It only bit him during the Sydney debacle.

I'm a big Oli fan but he played a hand and went bust. He f**ked up.

It's very sad but we have survived and flourished.

All hail king Monty.

I honestly can’t see a sold out Melbourne derby.
Half full with victory fans perhaps.
city fans lucky to fill a bay. Pretty sure we would bring more as an away crowd then their home fans.

The pain he looked to be in I thought it was an ACL straight away.
It can vary. I did my ACL walked off the pitch and it wasn’t till the next day it blew up and I thought I might have an issue. Sprained my MCL at a later date and it was way more painful at the time but only 6 weeks out

Bit more than a bust up and it's hard to welcome someone back who refuses to play.
